Hailey's POV:

As soon as the door is shut, and Jay closes the curtains, I turn back to Crockett. "Dr. Marcel-" I start, but he immediately cuts me off. "Oh, call me Crockett, please, no need to be so formal" he says and cracks a smile, an ingenuine one. "Right, so uhm, well first of all" I quickly turn around to Jay next to me, "we both want to say how sorry we are for what happened, and we're here if you need anything, if you have any questions." I say. He scoffs "Thanks, I appreciate it, but I thought it was you who were gonna ask the questions?" he asks sarcastically. "Well, yeah, but you know, we meant in general. I know we're here right now officially, but know you, and Natalie of course, can always reach us if you ever need it" Jay says, and I nod in agreement. He tries to smile "Thank you, let's just get on with the questions, please, I just want to get it over with" and it looks like his eyes are slightly tearing up again. "Right, of course, we won't bother you for long" I say and Jay and I ask him our questions.

Jay's POV:

After a while, Hailey and I managed to get a good overview of the accident, according to Crockett. I let Hailey out first, and after I've closed the door, I catch up with her, and her face looks worried. "Hey, besides the fact that this is a bad situation, you look worried, you ok?" I ask, and gently curl my fingers around hers. She sighs and looks at me "I don't know. Look, it's not that I don't believe his side of the story, it just feels like-",  "Like he's leaving something out" I finish her sentence. She nods, "yeah, exactly, might just be a wrong feeling, but the way he acted before we talked to him, I'm not sure, it just doesn't sit right with me" she says, I hum in agreement, "yeah, I'm also going to check with Will, try and find out what happened, if anything happened. I just find it weird, Will doesn't seem like the type of person to go off on a friend." I say. "Depends on if they even are friends." Hailey says, which leaves me wondering. We finish up and leave the hospital.

Crockett's POV:

The questioning is finally over, but the image of the accident keeps coming back to me. Asking me to re-imagine seems almost worse than when it actually happened. The tears that I pushed away come back in an instant, and as they roll over my cheeks uncontrollably, I realise I'm shaking. I have no idea if it's because I'm cold, or just in shock. I put my shaking hand over my mouth close my eyes. In a flash I see Natalie's shocked face again, right before we got hit, and I open my eyes so abruptly it hurts. I try and breath as normal as possible, but the crying won't stop.

I see Dr. Archer walking past my room, my crying stops instantly "Doctor Archer!" I yell, hurts to do so, but I have to know. I, as quickly as possible, wipe away my tears, and see that I grabbed his attention. He walks into my room. "Ah, doctor Marcel. Anything I can help you with? You feeling ok?" he asks. I nod, slightly annoyed, "Yes, yes, I'm fine. I just have to- you operated on Nata- doctor Manning, right?" I ask a little stressed. "Yeah, I did, she's ok, your daughter is too-", I cut him off "Daughter? It's- it's a girl?" I ask, and for the first time again, a slight genuine smile forms at my lips. "Right. You guys didn't know" he laughs shortly "I'm sorry, didn't mean to spoil the surprise. But I can assure they're both perfectly fine, I was actually just on my way to her room. Got paged saying that she woke up." he says and smiles at me. "Can I see her?" I ask desperately, he drops his eyes and sighs, but before he can say anything in protest, I go "please, doctor Archer, I have to, I have to see her, I have to make sure for myself" he holds his hand up. "Fine, I'll make an exception. You think you're feeling strong enough to be in a wheelchair?" he asks, and I nod without any hesitation.

Natalie's POV:

Iwoke up to the sight of Maggie sitting next to me. I try to move, but my bodyis really sore, so I resort to just saying "hey" in a very raspy voice. Maggielooks up and takes my hand "hey, how are you're feeling?" she asks. I nod andsigh, "ok-ish, but my body is really sore". As I try to move a little, I get asharp pain in my stomach, and I remember the baby. I open my eyes, and put myhands on my stomach. Maggie takes my hand and looks at me calmly "it's alright, she's right over there" she says, and points to a crib next to my bed. I lookat her little hands stretching above her face "and, and she's alright? Thereare no problems, because you know she's early, and-and the accident and allthat?" I ask quite panicked, but Maggie calms me down and nodding "she's aperfectly healthy little girl". I sigh, and smile at the sight of her face. "Wait, '' 'she'? It's a girl?" I say and smile brightly. Maggie nods walks over to the crib and very carefully picks her up. She hands her over tome, and I properly see for the first time. Even though her eyes are closed, andshe still looks a little red, I see Crockett's resemblance in her, and it makes me feel amazing. As I think about his resemblance in her little face, the thought of Crockett immediately pops into my head. I look up, with a really worried expression, and go "Uhm- Crockett, how- is he ok? Wher-where is he?", but Maggie takes my hands in hers. Just as she's about to talk, someone enters.

"He's right here" doctor Archer says, and I startle as I hear his voice and he enters my room. Crockett is sitting nervously in the wheelchair, leaning forward as far as possible since his leg is up right. When he sees me, he starts smiling, so brightly, and I chuckle because a feeling of sense at calmness overwhelms me. "Hey, my love" he slowly starts, almost sounding afraid. "Hi" I say relieved. "Here's our little girl,  Maya".
