*TW!*

Crockett's POV:

I wake up on one of the trauma beds in the ED,with doctors and nurses swarming around me. Once I full regained consciousness, I feel an excruciating pain in my left leg. I try to scream, but my lungs won't allow me. The left side of my chest is numb, but I feel someone pushing something into it, and I can finally inhale again. I start letting out all the pain, and scream. Will orders a nurse to give me something for the pain, but all I want is to be with Natalie, to know if she's alright, to apologise, to turn back time- my thoughts get cut off as I hear someone say something. Even though there is an incredible amount of noise, I instantly know that it's Natalie. With my free hand, I open the collar, and try and turn my head to where her voice is coming from. Before I can see her, someone grabs my head, and closes the collar "woah, woah, Crockett, we haven't cleared your c-spine yet, so you have to keep your head still" Will says. He puts the oxygen mask back on, and because I repeatedly try to say something, Will takes it off. He comes closer to my face, to hear me whispering, nearly unconscious from all that just happened in the nick of time: "you have- you have to save them" I say, and go unconscious.

Will's POV:

Half an hour earlier

I've been waiting all morning for Natalie, because we as the ED made her a 'goodbye-present', and I can't wait to see the look on her face when she opens it. I walk over to Maggie "Hey, Mags, have you seen Nat yet?" I ask, "no, no she should have been here already, her shift is gonna start soon" She answers, as she gets a notification on her brick.

She turns to the ED, and says "alright, people, listen up. We have a multi-vehicle car crash at an intersection, a minimum of 5 injured. More are to come", and right before she walks away she turns to me "you didn't by any chance see Crockett?", and I shake my head. She sighs, as the first patient gets brought in, "Dr. Archer, you're going treatment 7" she says. Shortly after that, a new patient is brought in, which to my shock is Natalie. Maggie also has a shocked expression, and as I walk over to her, she goes "no, Will, you get the next one", I look at her with a somewhat mad face, but then realise she knows what she's doing and I accept it.

As soon as I hear the sound of the incoming ambulance, I realise that Natalie and Crockett must have come together, and sadly enough I'm right. Maggie is halfway following Nat, when she says "Will, Vanessa, you go to Baghdad!". I rush over to him, check his pupils, and we go over to Baghdad. I notice that they wheeled Nat in, into the next room, where due to construction there is no wall, its just one big open room. I try and focus my attention on Crockett and ignore my worry for Natalie. We treat him for a haemothorax, but he's bleeding internally, so we should get him to the OR. As soon as I put in the chest tube, he starts screaming. I try and talk to him, calm him down, but he's barely conscious. I check him for other injuries, when he tries to take the collar off and check on Natalie. Once I've gotten him back down, he whispers something to me, that I can't quite make out, when his blood pressure drops.

Coincidentally, this is the same for Natalie, and by the sound of her monitor going off, I seem to lose my focus. Doris keeps repeating my name, forcing me to realise that Crockett is in my care. We quickly start moving him to the OR, parallel to Natalie being moved.

Maggie's POV:

A couple of hours later

I try my best to focus on the work in front of me, managing the patients, staff, everything that goes with it, but it takes up a lot of my energy. I see Sharon entering the ED, with a worried face, and once she spots me, she quickly walks over to me.

"Hey, I just heard what happened, are they ok?" she asks and puts her hand on my arm, "I don't- I don't know Sharon, I've been really busy with the ED here-" tears shoot into my eyes "I have no idea" I turn my head so people don't see tears rolling down my face. "Alright, alright, I get it, but Maggie" she lifts my head up "She'll be alright, ok? You know how strong she is, right? She's proven that many times, you can trust that she will make it" she says. I slowly nod and wipe away my tears. As Trini walks past, I stop her "Hey could you take over the brick? I'll be back in a bit" I say, and noticing my tears, she smiles and nods "of course, give us an update when you're back, will ya?" she asks and takes it from my hands. I nod, as both Sharon and I start walking towards the elevator.

Will's POV:

I'm nervously chewing my nails, as I hear the door to the observation room for the OR open. It's Maggie and Mrs. Goodwin. I keep my eyes on the surgery, as they go and stand next to me.

"Dr. Halstead, how is she?" Mrs. Goodwin starts. "Uh, they're almost done controlling the bleeding-" I nearly choke up having to say that. Maggie starts stroking my arm, and turning my head, I see she's been crying too, so I put my hand on hers.

We all stand there for a while, observing the surgeons. "Not to take your mind off the surgery, have you looked in on Dr. Marcel? Any idea how he's doing?" Mrs. Goodwin all of a sudden asks. I shake my head looking down, feeling guilty I haven't made sure he's alive. "That's fine, Maggie, could you?" she asks, and Maggie nods and walks out.
