Me and Chris decided to go on a road trip to Georgia so we packed up his car and got on the road. I wanted to introduce him to my family and show Chris all my favorite spots during this trip. We left the house around 4 in the morning to drive 16 hours down south.

My parents and my sister are driving to Georgia in a separate car and are driving behind us. The first stop is the Maryland house. We parked in the parking lot and got out. We saw my mom and sister get out of their car as well and we all walked in the building. Me and Chris decided to use the bathroom and then get some Dunkin' Donuts since we haven't eaten any food yet. Me and Chris stood in line, I was standing in front of him while he rested his hand on my hip and his other hand was in his pants pocket. We got to the register and Chris ordered for the both of us. After everyone got their food we headed back on the road.

Chris rested his hand on my thigh as he drove, absentmindedly using his thumb to rub my skin.
We drove in comfortable silence then Chris spoke,

"I'm nervous" he said

"Nervous about what?" I said turning my head in his direction.

"Nervous about meeting your family. What if they don't like me? What if they don't think I'm funny? Do they know I'm...white?" He said dramatically but also seriously. I laughed loudly.

"Of course they know you're white!" I chuckled. "Everyone knows what you look like. And trust me they'll love you. You're smart, funny, sweet, and polite. I can't wait for you to meet them." I said, smiling sweetly at my boyfriend. He laughed and blushed.

"Thank you. I can't wait to meet them." He said intertwining his hand with mine. We kept on driving until we hit the South of the Border. We got out again and used the bathroom. My mom and sister met up with us and then we all got some food. After our food we got on the road and a couple hours later we were pulling into my grandfathers yard. His dog, Bella, greeted us, jumping and waging her tail. Knowing Chris of course he was excited to see a dog there and immediately started playing with her before grabbing our bags out of the trunk.

My grandfather stood at his door waiting for us to come inside with a wide smile. Me and my sister ran up to him and gave him a big hug. Chris walked up behind us and waited to greet my grandfather. Me and my sister stepped back and my grandfather crossed his arms. Chris was a good foot and a half taller then my grandfather but still looked so nervous. I chuckled and grabbed Chris' hand .

"Grandpa, this is my boyfriend Chris. Chris this is my grandpa". Chris immediately stuck out his hand to shake my grandfather's. My grandpa shook his hand and smiled a small smile.

" Nice to meet you, sir" Chris smiled back. My Grandpa welcomed us inside the house and since I'm here with my family my and Chris are gonna sleep in separate beds. We picked the room with two twin beds and put our stuff down. Since it was around 8, my grandpa was preparing his dinner and my mom decided to make some food as well.

Me and Chris sat on the couch surrounded by my family, talking and laughing, and getting to know Chris more. We played Uno and Taboo all night. I knew this trip was gonna be amazing.
