A voice from far away, it was just the sound of the falling leaves of fall, nothing special.
Lucas knew he was in a dream, he had many, mostly nightmares, but this time, it seemed different.
The grounds were no longer grim, the skies were no longer red. He heard the voices of young children surrounding his mind, desperate for attention.
He opened his eyes, not in real life, but in his dream self. He was sitting under a tree, a tree with golden leaves falling down to his shoulders.
"Great." Lucas thought. "Can't wait to see how this dream will go horribly wrong."
Suddenly, he felt the warmth of another, the touch of another, the felt of another that wasn't his flesh, patting his back. It's Claus again, isn't it. Oh Claus, how I miss you, all those days we've spent playing with each other, ate with each other, now you've left me, only with the fragmented memories of dreams, to shatter my hopes to see you ever again.
Lucas turned his head, to find something rather surprising. It wasn't his brother. Ness...frickin Ness, was beside him, he seemed older, and more mature. He wore a tar black jacket with jeans, along with the same cutsie hat he always wore, an outfit he never thought to see someone like Ness in.
Wait.
Lucas felt something else, he tried to pick up his arms, he could not. It was restrained, by no other, than the boy next to him.
Ness was holding his hands, grasping so tenderly. A benign smile plastered on the hatted boy's face, it was pretty obvious now what Lucas' dreams were about. Was this just another way for the gods above to remind again that he is fuckin gay?
"Shit." Lucas pulled his arms away from the boy, which the boy reacted weirdly.
"Luke, are you ok?" The older Ness asked, concerned. "Did I grasp your arms too hard?"
"Umm..."
Lucas said as Ness pulled him closer onto his lap, throwing his head over his shoulders.
"When we go to college, we won't be able to see each other anymore, sad face. Ima get as much as you as I can." Ness said. "But one day, we shall reunite. Keep me updated, and text me, promise Luckey?"
"Wait hold up...Ness...what are we?"
"What do you mean?"
"Are we still...friends? Like best friends?"
"Haha funny one Lukey." Ness said. "You know how it already hurts me to leave you, don't pour the salt on the wounds." Ness said as he pushed Lucas into the ground, it didn't hurt, a dream, this is after all. "I love your little face so much, I wish our parents could of just let us dropped out, my stupid mom didn't fucking let me."
"Wow...this is...great." Lucas said while stumbling. Really? Out of everything he could have dreamed about...This was the thing? As much as he wanted to snap out of this guilty pleasure, so that Ness wouldn't happen to wonder into his mind and see all this crap, he couldn't. He loved it too much. How big of a degenerate was he...To dream about such horrible and gross things behind his very friend's back, like literally right behind. Lucas was in shock, he didn't know where to start."
"(Sigh)Let's look forward to the future, I'm leaving tomorrow...Just...I just wanna be with you, and no one else. I love you, I love you so much, I just wanna go back to the times when we were little, when we were younger. Promise me that you won't leave me no matter what." Ness said while on top of Lucas. He leaned down and kissed the boy on the lips, and then inserted his tongue into his mouth. It felt fuzzy to Lucas, and it didn't even feel like anything, probably because he has no real memory of doing this with anyone.
After the tens and thousands of nightmares he's had, this was surely a change for the better.
Suddenly his feet twitched in burning pain, his eyes snapped open to find shadowed figures in front of him, just like the days before. He quickly screamed to wake everyone up. The figures in front of him scrambled, but stopped when one of them had tripped over something. Lucas used the opportunity to hop up from his resting space, and (attempted) to pin the figure down. He didn't know what was going on, only the sound of many noises of both the intruders and his sleepy friends beside him. So many seconds passed, everything was a shit fest inside the tiny central park. The only things known to Lucas were, 1. people woke them up. 2. Why? and 3. WHY????
The confusion all came to an end when light sparked between Ness' hands, his three inched lighter. The beaming light clearly showed the positions of the intruders. There were three taller and muscular looking man, and one smaller figure, which Lucas had pinned down.
After marking his surroundings, Ness leaped forward to attack with his fists, the men had no sign of retreat, until one of them was instantly knocked down by a single one of Ness' punch. Which they instantly began the run. After many minutes every single man was taken down, all unconscious, or perhaps dead.
"Not my best work, don't come back!" Ness said. Now back to his annoying 13 year old self. "Lucas, is there another one under you?"
"Yeah..." Lucas said weakly. "I think he's dea-oh no, it's a she, or is it? I can't tell."
"Eh, probably a bisexual or something." Ness said as he lied his eyes on the smaller figure. A small blond...Woman?
"Bro what the fuck?" Link said, who just regained conscious. "What in tarnation?"
The small blond woman began to open her eyes, as Ness' hands deeply grasped her throat, which made her grasp.
"Who sent you?" Ness said in a odd deep voice. Which almost made the others laugh.
"I-" The woman said in a raspy and soft voice. "Let...me talk."
Ness released her throat, which made her grasp.
"You...are pretty good, for a puny street kid." The woman said. "Those were my toughest men, what did you take? Steriods?"
The woman laughed in a high pitch, which enraged Ness even more.
"I'll give you another try...What were you doing?" Ness said as he grabbed the woman's collar. "Look me in the eye, are you seriously not going to take this seriously?"
"I'll do you one better, what were you ladies doing sleepin like a group of monkeys after the yearly shagging festivities? Taking you kids serious would be playing the piano to a donkey." The woman said in a taunting voice.
"..."
"Tetra?" Link said excitingly. "Is that you? No way!"
