"My head is tight." Kairi said pouting.
"I'm sorry,you look adorable though." I said laughing,typing a scarf over her fresh braids.
"Here." I said handing her some pillows.
"The room is at the end of the first hall." I said,getting up.
"I don't wanna sleep by myself. Can i see sleep with you please?" She said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"I'm just scared." She said.
"Of what? You use to sleep in there all the time perfectly fine." I asked.
"I'm scared please let me sleep with you." She said.
"What's wrong?" I said kneeling down to her level. She shook her head not wanting to speak.
"I'm scared the man that hurt my daddy is going to hurt me." She said. A part of me didn't even know what to say. If i was her age I'd be so confused and not knowing what to do,and just asking a bunch of questions. I have all the answers to them,and here I am in her face playing superhero. I was super worried on her being all of a sudden scared to sleep alone,and I didn't wanna scare her more by asking her about it.
"Okay fine. You know where the room is,I'll be right there." I said watching her run off to the room. I pulled out my phone and dialed Kentrell's number and sat down,not knowing what to even say to him. We had a good couple of days and I didn't want to ruin it with this.
"What your ass want?" Kentrell's voice said through the phone.
"What's wrong with you?" I said,taking note of his attitude.
"Nun' ion wanna fucking talk about it. Whatchu on?" He said.
"You sure? I'm here if anything." I spoke softly.
"I'm straight." He said.
"I got some stuff to tell you." I said taking the phone off speaker.
"What you did?" He said.
"Nothing. I just don't want you to get mad. Okay?" I said,walking around my house in circles.
"If you gotta say that shit you know i'm finna be mad." He said.
"Just listen to me. You wanted me to be honest and here I am. Earlier Dave's mother came to my apartment with Kairi."
"For what? Mane' you always doing something." He said sucking his teeth.
"I didn't really do anything this time. She came uninvited. I don't even know how she knew where I stayed at. She basically said she didn't want Kairi. And ran off,leaving her with me. What do i do?" I said.
"Ain't what she did illegal?" He said.
"I don't even know. I don't know what to do. I don't wanna bring her back to the group home knowing she hates it there. and I don't want her back either grandma knowing she's unwanted to her." I explained.
