"You still tryna make these muffins?" Kayla said walking around the kitchen.
"Why you never home? Y'all people love coming here bothering me." I said smacking my lips.
"You staying with my grandma and my sister and wonder why I'm here all the time." She said opening up the fridge. Grandma laughed,and picked up a muffin.
"Where Fatman?"
"With his daddy."
"He walking again?" I laughed.
"Nigga you not funny,but yeah. He been walking. Where Jalanee?"
"I don't even know. She crashed early last night. Begging me to fall asleep with her. But say' y'all believe in marriage?"
They both turned and looked at each other.
"I mean of course. I don't know about you young heads though." Grandma said. "Why?" Kayla added.
"You know why." I said evidently .
"Bubba are you playing with me? If so stop,it's too early for you kids nonsense." My grandma said .
"I'm serious Maw. I bought the ring." I said opening up my phone to show her photo.
"Awww" They both said in unison. I smacked my lips and locked my phone.
"Well what's the matter?" Granny asked.
"I gotta ask her pops about it. Ion know what to say,"
This whole shit was fucking with me. I gotta be a bitch to go ask someone daddy to marry them. Plus on top of that I ain't see her daddy in years. They was coming here in a few more hours and I knew I had to ask him or at-least let him know.

"Cause I don't wanna get married. Marriage ain't for everyone." She said straightening her mug. "I know my sister,all she use to talk about is getting married."
"You don't have any reason to be nervous. He'll be the more supportive parent anyways." Grandma said.
"I'll put on a movie or something so everyone won't be all over the place. It'll be a lot of us so if you and Jalanee not up each other asses you'll have the time to speak to him. And while you with him,I'll keep her company." Kayla said.
