"I've never thought about being a Hashira...Not like I could anyway, people would be scared of me...I reek of death, don't I? You can sense it can't you." Himo asked, wringing her hand around the back of her neck sadly. "No...You...-" Tanjiro cut off, she did indeed smell like death. Not a rotting corpse, but like the hand of the entity itself, a way for Death to simply walk the human world, but as a much fainter smell, it was certainly there. He shuddered being more aware that he was able to sense it on her.

"I see that look. I told you, I won't become one anyway. Thanks for the talk, but I've got another mission, good luck to whatever shenanigans you pull off next." She waved miserably, letting Sho land on her arm and spout the next of mission, "Your caretaker has been resurrected as a demon. Kill it." The bird spoke, and flew off, circling overhead like a vulture waiting for it's prey to die.

"You heard it. I'm leaving, tell the rest." Himo turned away coldly, and left, though as she left, Tanjiro noticed something. I can sense...I think she's upset, there's something about that mission that ticked her off, something isn't right about this caretaker... He noted, and watched her exit his line of sight.

-

"I can hardly remember her name...So, she's dead around here?" Himo looked up to her bird, while standing next to the gravestone of the woman, the bird still carrying on circling above cawed affirmatively back at her, "Wonderful...All I needed was the rest of this town being turned into demons..." A hand stretched out of the ground and waved to Himo.

"Gah! What the hell?!" She scrambled away and drew her sword in response, "Oh dear...I apologize for scaring you...come closer dear, I want to see you again...you've aged so quickly, it's hard to tell you're you..." A voice strikingly similar to Shoku, or as Sho put it, "caretaker". The headstone was covered in moss, clearly aged by the time Himo has ventured away from the small town.

"Shoku...I've been informed you're a demon, where's the rest of you?..." Himo asked hesitantly, the demon from the temple the day she ran into Tanjiro for the first time with both of them parentless was certainly something she wouldn't be forgetting any time soon, especially since it could use dismembered limbs even when separated quite far from them.

"Oh dear me...I'm trying to help, those evil slayers took everything from me...My husband, my children, my parents..come closer child, you and I aren't so different." The hand spoke, Himo neared the hand slightly, inching forward.

"You...they did? How?" She asked, "Well, they were turned into demons, the slayers killed them without thought, they could've been cured like your friend's sister..." The hand responded wistfully, Himo crouched down at the hand, "Did they? What's the cure?" She urged.

"The cure? Death my dear." Demonic Shoku hissed, "What-" The hand grabbed Himo and began pulling her under, she kicked the headstone as a means for stopping but it dragged her forward even as the stone cracked.

Sho cawed and shot down, slashing the fingers in just the right spot to render them useless, "Idiotic bird! I was close—my dear-" The demon said in the same sickly sweet voice, no longer resembling Shoku, but a demented version of the kind woman.

Himo stood there, shaking, "You're not Shoku..." She realized with horror, the sword nearly dropping in shock, "What makes you think that?..." The voice called, the hand had retracted back into the ground leaving nothing but a black mark on the grass.

"Shoku said she'd never married on account of not wanting to create an unstable relationship for a child, and since she believes in demons, Shoku never had children because she worked so often to take care of her parents and didn't want to kill them by becoming a demon, I attended her parent's funeral, they were killed by a bad case of flu. There's no cure to demons once they're demons, even Madame T-"

She stopped, knowing Muzan could very well be listening if all demons really had a curse, though Tamayo had never explicitly said Muzan could listen through demons, might as well safe than sorry, "-Even 'Miss' could not find a cure yet, there's no cure. You're a liar...If you're Shoku, answer me this, what rank was my father?..." Himo said, her voice cracking with anger at the thought of Shoku being possessed by some demon who killed people based off of a sob story using Shoku's life, it must've sounded convincing too to anyone that happened to wander, since the woman had told very few people her life and rumors had spread.

That demon is going to die. I can feel it...I can track it, it won't come out because the space around the gravestone is the demon, if I burn the ground, it dies...

"My dear, silly asking me questions, he was a Hashira, now help me-" The voice answered and within moments, Himo slashed the headstone and seethed, "Wrong.Answer. My father wasn't Hashira you dimwitted arsehole of a demon. You're wrong. Inside and out. Nice chat we've had, time for you to die." She whipped out a flint and steel, lit sparks, and set the whole grave on fire.

Why had the demon thought Hashira?

Shoku had memory problems, the only person she can exactly remember piece by piece for longer than four hours was Himo, who once told her, "My father was going to be hashira!" But her memory was cracked when the demon withdrew the information from her memory and it turned into, "My father was a Hashira."

"Should you live...I'll come for you." Himo said darkly, Sho landed on her arm and cawed angrily, pecking at Himo's face, "Right, not letting the rest burn..." She hastily cleared the rest of the grass to form a circle that would only burn around Shoku's grave. The demon underneath screamed and went silent, the smell of ashes curled upwards.

"Muzan, I've got a bone to pick with you..." She growled, looking at the burned circle, the smell of smoke filling the area, the villagers would certainly have a field day if they found out who caused this, so she left the scene.

-

What the hell is happening in there... Himo thought, returning from the mission with a bruise around her ankle sustained from the demon grabbing her, a blast came from the house, demolishing the roof completely, "What the fu-" A hand clamped her mouth shut, "Shut up, they're going to hear you and you're going to ruin my chances." Genya hissed, and moved to the roof both quietly and quickly.

'wHaT tHe FUcK. What just happened? Did he wash his hands though? Please tell me he did, it smelled a lot like metal, also what the hell is happening to the house? What's going on? Is this staged?' And a million other questions began running through her brain while she stood there, staring mindlessly as her brain zoned out to start asking more questions when she was shaken back to her senses at last, realising this was an actual fight here in the village.

A gunshot rang out and a demon began flying into the sky, "Hey Sho, am I going crazy or does that guy have a weed leaf..." She whispered, the bird seemed to agreeingly caw back like it was replying, 'Yeah what the fuck? It does look like it has one.'

She shot ahead while Sho flew up into the sky, circling the house, she was about to slash the demon but Tanjiro called out to her desperately, "Don't! It's going to split if you try that!" The demon instead, backhanded her into a wall, her sword went flying and stuck directly at the feet of the demon who made a little 'O' with his mouth in surprise, "You can kill me indirectly? Impressive, damn, you're better than both of them! That was closer than both attempts." It laughed.

She cracked open an eye that blazed with fury and a grin that meant trouble, "You sayin' this shit?" Himo snorted with about has much sass as the demon, if they were going to fight, at least make it the sassiest fight in all of hell. "Fight me bitch." And went to work with killing, slashing while Nezuko kept pressing him to make sure he didn't move much, she targeted limbs, mostly to scare him and keep him in line until someone else figured out how to kill it hopefully.
