Himo jumped as Genya threw entire trees, somehow managing to uproot all of it and toss them like skipping stones along water. Several times so they stuck out like a minefield of treetrunks with roots sticking up in the air buried underground, and he'd done this without any physical changes as far as she could see. "Genya...what the fuck, I'm impressed...but what the hell. When you become a pillar, you wouldn't even need a sword, just throw shit at 'em." She mumbled in both fear and impression at the feat of strength. that would be an interesting question she would ask some other time, but not right now, they'd have to catch this nuisance of a demon.

'thanks....'

He quickly started chucking a few more trees at the tiny figure, he was down to commit some environmental damage if it meant committing reasonable murder.

Nezuko spotted the tiny figure running away and slammed her fist into the ground in the approximated pathed area she thought it the small demon was going to be running through, narrowly missing by just a few centimeters over the side and obliterating the ground where she'd made contact, to where the demon yelped and began running faster at the speed of a startled rabbit.

That comparison was quite ironic considering the fact Himo use to really love animals as a child, living in the mountains had it's fair share of demons and fuzzy animals lingering around, unfortunately now that image was being ruined by a demon...again, for maybe the fifth time... Well, another reason why she should absolutely throttle this tiny screeching demon scum and punt it into the sky like a kemari* game.

* Kemari is a game resembling football [soccer for you mUriCaNs.] or hacky sack that was popular during the Heian Period of Japan.

"Hear me out, we chase him South to where the sun rises quicker, then we get him to burn alive, technically killing him." She offered, but they knew it would take too long and Kanroji wouldn't be able to fight for so long while they dawdled along trying to chase the tiny demon main body, it would be too far for them to chase it for so long and inevitably she'd blunder, no human was perfect after all. Eventually something would go wrong because the universe definitely seemed to hate the lot of them whenever a demon or two was tossed in the mix with their shenanigans, either resulting in someone dying, losing a limb or two, or worse depending on if Muzan was feeling like a bitch lord that day to send a higher level demon or not.

Himo could almost run to catch the tiny demon quickly scuttling away, she was quick on her feet so it was just a matter of all her injuries not killing her and not letting the rest of her friends die either. Nezuko ran alongside at full speed trying to get to the demon, though both seemed to be only a slight too slow compared to the yelping and running demon. Himo ran only a few inches behind but her sword couldn't reach, and yes, she tried. Slicing and stabbing like Kanao trying to kill Nezuko but it was a haphazardly swinging her sword like an axe while running 'fast as fuck boiiii' at the demon instead of controlled swings that Kanao had used.

A race against the clock for Mitsuri to not end up dead before this fight was over and a literal race with a tiny demon. Hantengu, however, seemed he could run forever and it didn't look like he was planning on changing that either, and with the stamina observed in the demon fighting back in the clearing, it looked like chasing would lead them nowhere except out of the village entirely. If he ate any humans what would happen?

What would happen if he got away without killing Tanjiro, Sotte, or a Pillar even, would Muzan be upset at him? Then again, did he just want the location of where the pillars and several swordsmiths mostly resided to have leverage or just to be a little prick and send more demons to harass them?

Tanjiro was lagging behind due to his injuries as well, though not as fatal, still, it hindered his ability to fully run. Himo seemed like she was fine and as a Hinoe, he expected it from her, true to the rank, she managed to run faster than the three of them, almost on par with Hantengu, and just like him, didn't seem to be stopping any time soon. The big difference was that she was injured and still human, or at least not full demon was obvious.

He realized the more they ran, the more time the separate entity fighting Kanroji would have to kill her, and the more tired the rest of them would get. If both things happened, it would be gameover and these two demons would walk around free in a village depending on them to keep everyone safe.

A literal race and another against the clock.

With some concentration and a statement from Zenitsu a while ago, he managed to use Breath of Thunder and ran ahead as fast as, well, literal lightning...This breath really didn't have much mystery, did it...all the explanations within a few words. Well, at least the breath does it's work well because he felt like he could run faster than that bitchass Muzan could infect people into demons, and that was surely a bold statement! She looked at him incredulously as he somehow managed to learn a whole new breath within a few seconds:

"What kind of Avatar; the Last Airbender shit is this? Is he collecting breaths??? Master of all four breathing styles who?"

Lunging forward past Himo and Nezuko, unsheathing his sword, and slicing the demon's neck...well...it should've went that way at the very least. Of course it didn't. Why? Because every demon was an absolute nightmare to fight in this universe. It seemed that no matter how many demons he encountered during his entire time that he was a slayer, there would always be a stupid asshole who was a nightmare to fight, wouldn't there. It seemed like the gods had said, "no" to all of humanity and it almost felt like they'd cast the spell of horrible luck on all slayers who attempted to kill their targets that at least one thing would go wrong.

"Heeyyy....I am pitiful....can't you see that?!!?" Hantengu suddenly turned around threateningly to face them and rapidly began to expand in size, surpassing regular human height [including Himejima...wow.] and into a giant deformed demon, grabbing Tanjiro around the neck and lower face like he was some sort of stuffed doll rather than a living being which is likely how demons saw human life, he looked terrified as it seemed to be suffocating him in the process. The irony being he was picking on a human who was injured, and was only half it's size at least.

Fucking hypocrite.
