Haganezuka was fuming at Tanjiro for breaking his sword while Himo leaned her back against the wooden wall that was part of the small platform thing in the yard, her own sword that hadn't been broken so many times over by Rui was strapped to her waist. The other, was being fixed by someone who would deliver it to Kako then she'd send it to Himo.
Inosuke started chipping away at his newly built nichiren sword with a random rock he'd found to make indents in the blade which made the other swordsmith angry, threats were shared like cake at a birthday party, she looked to the side and saw that Sho and another crow she recognized as Kako's crow, though she never knew the name of, managed to land with a long box as the other four fought behind her.
"Hey Sho! Made a new friend?" Himo asked, patting her feathered friend and turned to the other crow, it was ink black with dark to gray tips at the end of its tail and feathers gradienting like a light brush stroke. Opening the box, she saw her father's sword, fully fixed and with the same hilt, "Wow...." Himo whispered as she saw the glowing blade, then swing the note, picked it up and began to read it as the fighting went on in the background behind her.

Dear Himo,
Be careful of this blade, I believe that you've received the music box from Sakonji Urokodaki, my old friend, and I am going to explain it in this letter.
The blade is a very rare type of ore, it is cursed as whenever it is reforged, it will try to break the spirits of people who wield it, you've successfully wielded it before meaning you are someone the sword has chosen to curse you, I am sorry but it has already happened.
Second, the music box I have given you contains a power, when you break it, it will aid you in destroying whatever you wish, it is strong and powerful but can only be used five times. My unlucky student before you, Pandora, used it too many times and didn't pass Final Selection. Don't think of it as a get out of trouble card.

Fear seemed to seep from the blade, Himo eyed it warily, wondering if she should use it anymore but shook her head. If she'd already been cursed she might as well put it to good use, so she picked it up and put it in the sheathe and walked back over to the other four. Several more questions were crammed into her head as her steps neared her friends and her arm carried the box, such as:
Who's Pandora?
How did my dad get not cursed...or did he?...
Where is Kako?
Was the box the thing that helped me kill Rui?....
Should I ever use this blade?
Can I get around the curse?
What do I do.....
There were no answers for her.

The trio was sent off to a mission while Himo would stay behind, she was going on a different mission from theirs. When they woke up, they'd found her bed empty because she'd already left at early morning to deal with hers. It had become a recurring event for them to find she had to skip training hall in favor of being able to go do missions, the one time she wasn't on a mission was a certain day, she wouldn't tell them anything either.
(My headcannon is that Himo's house is near the train but it's also near the village, because I fucking need it for plot!
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧)Unfortunately for her....she'd be going home to deal with a demon residing at a certain place....As she arrived, the house that would forever haunt her and her life, the Sotte house, supposedly there was a demon here that needed to be killed.
Great, the last thing I need was a reminder of them, at least this time I'm prepared. She thought, taking a quick breath then running through the village when she saw something....a graveyard...
Her eyes darted from up the hill to the graveyard, taking one chance and slipping into the graveyard for a second.
Shoku...Itodan....Wait.......
The grave was overgrown and unkept, the seeable parts of the remaining headstone was a light grey color with the ingraved words:
Shoku Itodan
••—••
.-&._-.^>._-&.$+_._-+#/.)
It's completely unreadable from the vines, moss, and ivy. I can't move it either...
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH-"
What in the world? Shoot, I better finish my mission, I'm taking way too long that might be the demon.
The roof was in shambles, the wood had rotted so much it was collapsing into the house's rooms. The door hung wide open and was almost torn off the wall, hung together only by one of the three hinges. The surrounding trees had flourished now that no one was cutting then down or keeping them in check. The grass had been overgrown and the vines had almost snaked their way up to the roof, even if it had only been a few years of negligence.
Himo was 16 now compared to the past, but hey, the memories were done, time to go kick some ass. Demonic ass to be exact.
She creaked open the door, some clothes were strewn on the ground likely from the day she ran off after killing her mother as a demon, wooden planks from the roof stabbed into the ground like something heavy decided to jump from the roof into the house and demolished it in the process. She shuddered as she walked in, her footsteps barely a sound as the wind outside swept into the house and the door creaked from the movement. Any sound made her jump and the rusty creaking hinges of doors and windows didn't help to ease her worry. Clutching her sword and very much terrified, Himo slowly walked farther and farther down the hall of the messy house, every shadow seemed to haunt her again of shouting and screaming.
'I recognize now that father was being so harsh on me for my safety, but he took a turn into pretty rough territory.' She thought as the boards creaked under her feet, it had been years but she had memorized every single floorboard in the house, and knew where to step in order to avoid any sort of sounds, the end of the hallway was in front of her, just one push of a door would lead her to the place where she murdered her own mother in...what is self-defense...right?
'No matter, I just need to finish this.' And shook her head to clear the fears that swarmed and piled up in her head, but her heart seemed to be indifferent, already speeding up to a rate that even the fastest of slayers could only envy. Himo's eyes widened as she looked into the room she now was in, the wooden floor was filthy and the furniture was unrecognizable under all the dust. The horrifying thing was the blood slathered everywhere and seemed to be dripping onto the floors. It was new, too new for it to be some old victim.
But in the middle of the room there was something that would haunt her forever...A pile of corpses were in the middle of the room, but one stood out more than the others....
"....Father?...."
