Patrick's POV
I'm still in shock by what Pete says when we reach the police station. He knows where Mark is. How does he know where Mark is? I barely even have any time to get a word out because by the time we've reached the station we're inside and in front of the chief in his office. Pete closes the door.
"I know where Mark is." Pete says as he walks up to the desk.
The chief looks like he's just been hit with a brick.
"What?! How did you figure that out?"
"It wasn't hard really. I just pieced together some things after our friend Phil had made a really good observation. It all made sense afterwards."
"Well, good! Where is he! We'll send a team out right away to get him."
"No need, I've already got him." Pete says and seises the Chief of Police by his colar.
"Oh my goodness, Pete! Put him down!" I said trying to not get Pete arrested for assaulting a police officer.
"No Patrick, you want Mark here he is."
"Pete that's not Mark! Are you insane?!"
"No I'm perfectly fine. This is Mark. and I would explain but right now we've got to get back to Alex and Phil."
Then Suddenly the chief starts laughing.
Did I miss something?
It wasn't the "haha that was a really good joke kind of laugh." It was the "I'm a crazy person and I need to be locked up." Kind of laugh.
He just keeps laughing and I just keep getting uneasy. Was this guy okay?
I look over at Pete and he looks terrified. He turns to the Chief,
"What did you do to them?!"
The Chief just keeps laughing.
Pete shakes him violently
"WHAT DID YOU DO!?!?!"
He stops laughing for just a second.
"You'll never find them sweetheart." and suddenly his body starts contorting and shifting... he's... he's.... shapeshifting? I can't believe what I'm seeing I think I might have gone insane.
Now Pete is no longer holding the Chief by his colar, he's holding Mark.
Pete looks like he's about to cry.
"Why are you doing this?" Pete asks
He chuckles. Then he looks at both of us.
"I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told your precious little gem. Revenge"
And with that last word he disappears and everything fades to black...
