Alex's POV

"I had a great time today." I said as he walks me up to my house.

"Me too, we should do it again sometime." He smiles at me.

"Definatly. Call me whenever you want to hang out again."

"I will" he says as he moved forward to give me a hug.

"Goodnight Patrick." I say while hugging him

"Goodnight Alex."

We separate. He starts to walk away and I open the door to my house. I've only just walked through the door when I hear yelling coming from upstairs. Followed by a loud 'Thud!' on the floor. Home sweet home. I shake my head as I walk to my bedroom. I just wish they would stop fighting, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon.

I shut my bedroom door, and I get changed into PJs and lay in my bed and think about today. Hoping to hold onto a little piece of happiness while I'm here.

First thing we did was go to the theatre and watched a movie. It was a scary movie. I don't remember the name of it but I was pretty much cowering under Patrick's arm the whole time. Next time I'm picking the movie.

Then we went to lunch. I tried to convince him to let me pay for lunch, but he insisted he pay for it.

"You paid for the movie, it only seems right that I pay for lunch." I had said

"No, it's okay and besides I already have the check in my hand." he said with the smile that made my heart flutter.

Then after that we took a stroll through the park. Sat down on a park bench for a while. He asked me questions and got to know me better. I didn't tell him anything to deep. Just basic things like my favorite movie, favorite flower ect...

Then we had dinner. Then he walked me home.

It was a perfect day. I smiled. remembering his arms around me and his smell. Still sunshine and heaven. I always seemed to get lost in his eyes. No matter how hard I tired not to, it always seemed to happen and he didn't seem to mind. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted when someone came bursting through my door.

"Get out! get the fuck out of my house!" He yelled at me. This always happens when he gets drunk. "Stupid bitch. I want you gone in five minutes!" then he leaves my room. I quickly get dressed, grab my bag and then I leave. My mom and her stupid boyfriend.

I start to walk down the street. I have no idea where I'm going, but as long as it's away from my house I don't care. I start heading towards Starbucks. it's not that late, they should still be open.

I walk into the coffee shop and order myself a coffee then go sit down at one of the tables. It's not crowded in here, only four or five people. My phone started to vibrate. I didn't want to talk to anybody right now, but it could be important so I got it out anyway and answered it.

"Hello." I said

"Hey Alex, it's Patrick."

I smile a little bit. "hey Patrick what's up?"

"Oh nothing. I was just calling to see if you were free tomorrow?"

"Yeah, I am." I smile

"Cool, me and the band are practicing tomorrow. You should come hang out with us."

"Sounds fun. Count me in."

"So what are you up to right now?"

"I'm just hanging out in Starbucks right now."

He chuckles "it's a bit late for coffee. What are you doing there?"

"Just wasting time." Just waiting till my moms boyfriend comes off it so I can go home.

He must of heard the slight hint of anger in my tone because the he asks "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, everything is fine. My moms boyfriend just kicked me out temporarily." I say messing with the lid of my coffee cup

"Do you have anywhere to go?"

"No, I don't. but it doesn't matter. it'll all blow over in a few hours."

"How do you know? Has this happened before?"

"Yes it has. He's drunk and never remembers anything the next day. He'll wake up tomorrow and act like nothing happened."

He's quiet for a moment and then he says "Look, I don't think it would be wise to go back tonight. You should just stay the night at a friends house or something and then go back tomorrow."

"Why?"

"Because if he's drunk enough to kick you out then who knows what will happen if he catches you back inside the house while he's still drunk."

He did have a good point, but I had no where to go.

"I would take your advice and spend the night somewhere but I have no where to go. I have to go back home."

"I have a spare bedroom. You can sleep at my house tonight."

"You don't have to do that. Really. It's okay."

"Better safe than sorry and I don't mind. Really."

I sigh. "Thank you."

"No problem. where are you right now. I'll come pick you up."

"I'm at Starbucks."

"Oh, right. I'll be there in a second." Then he hangs up.

Ten minutes later I'm in his car and on the way to his house. The car ride was silent, but not an awkward silent. It was a comforting kind of silence.

"So this is the guest bedroom, bathroom is down the hall and my bedroom is right across from this one. If you need anything let me know." He smiles at me and turns to leave.

"Hey Patrick," I said, he turns to look at me. "Thank you for letting me stay here."

He smiles the most perfect half smile and My heart starts to melt. "You're welcome. Goodnight Alex."

"Goodnight Patrick."

Then he turns and leaves closing the door behind him. I take off my shoes and crawl under the covers. As soon as my head hits the pillow I'm asleep and that night I dream sweet dreams about Patrick.

Patrick's POV

I smile as I think about today and what an odd twist it's end was. She sleeps across the hall and I lay awake thinking about her. I shake me head as I roll over on my side. I'm falling to fast and I know it, but I can't help it. She's the one. I can feel it in my gut, but I don't want to speak to soon. So for now I'll say she might be.

Wise men say, only fools rush in.

But I can't help falling in love with you.
