When I was younger my siblings used to tell me about the family that lived in the mountains. They told me that once you went past the narrow dirt road you were deemed to never return. I had always believed that it was just a tall tale to scare us from exploring the mountains but the truth was it was more than just a tale.

There was indeed a trail with a narrow dirt road that would end once you passed the old abandoned cabin. The view of the forest from that point was always terrifying. There was nothing but trees for miles and a dense fog that never seemed to vanish. Each step I took made me feel nothing but fear.

It was at this point that I wish someone had warned me about the darkness that crept into the small town that I called home. I was only twenty when I was dared by the people who I thought were my friends to go past the dirt road. I was supposed to go until I couldn't hear them anymore and then hide. Once five minutes had passed they were supposed to come and find me but they never did. Instead, I got dragged into this place that was now my home.

I knew no one would ever find me and no one would even try to. The truth was the mark past the narrow dirt road belonged to the family that stayed far off in the mountains. Once you crossed that mark you belonged to them and I was the one unlucky person to do that one thing. I was a human trapped in the wolf world and it was terrible. Everyone hated me and no one dared to approach me.

I stayed in a cabin by myself until they found me fit for a trial. An older woman would bring me food and water every month. When that time of the month came around, I had to burn incense to keep the male wolves away. There was no other word to describe my every thought but home. Upon my few attempts to run away, I found myself being chased down by several wolves and brought right back.

Today, I was sitting in the window seal watching the people roam around as they began to prepare for the full moon I guess. I walked over to the calendar and saw that the full moon wasn't until a week from now. I furrowed my eyebrows before going back and watching them. They were acting as if the king and queen were about to burst through the gates at any minute. For some reason, my eyes felt heavy so I carried myself up the stairs to my bed where I instantly fell asleep.

When I woke up, I could feel that I was no longer in my bed. My eyes were covered by something because all I could see was darkness. My wrists were thumbing and panic began to fill my soul.

"Calm down outsider." A male voice stated.

"Where am I?" I asked.

The silence was making me more nervous and the tension in the atmosphere wasn't helping. I didn't know what was going to happen to me but for some reason, I could feel my body temperature rising and sweat begin to pour from my body. My heartbeat increased and everything in me felt like it was about it exploded as the sound of footsteps got closer to where I was.

"I can smell its fear from here. What's the situation again?" A male voice asked from behind me.

"Well Alpha, the, it is a human, and she was found hiding in the east part of the forest." Another male said.

"Did she see?" The male asked in a deep tone. The silence got thicker until,

"Did she see?" He asked again but this time it was almost like he growled.

"Y-yes Alpha." The male responded.

The once-silent area was filled with a loud growl that caused a whimper to slip from my mouth. The cloth that was coving my eyes was ripped off and I could feel the warmness of another person in front of me making me close my eyes even tighter. I whispered through my tears,

"It was a dare. A stupid dare. I'm sorry."

"Everyone knows the rules of this town. You do not cross the narrow dirt road." The male yelled as I cried even more.

"P-please." I begged as I felt my chin being gripped tightly.

"Open your eyes, you stupid human." The male requested.

I slowly opened my eyes and I instantly regretted it. His red glowing eyes and gaze were enough to make me fear for my life. I instantly broke eye contact with him only angering him more. He jerked my face back up to him as he sniffed my neck before asking,

"Who is family?"

"Mark and Lisa Ruels." I replied in my shaky voice. He arched his eyebrows before smirking and saying,

"We got ourselves bait boys." The male said.

"We've been trying the take out the Ruels for a long time and finally we are able." The male continued.

"Ohhh don't cry pup, I'm going to be really nice to you. I'll kill you first and then everyone else." The male implied.

Tears streamed down my face and my head became heavy. My breath quickened and suddenly I saw darkness.
...........:.
When I woke up I found myself in a bed. One that was much bigger than the one I had before. I looked around listening to the beeping sound and the machine going off. There was an IV in my right wrist and fluids hanging on the pole. I felt cold but when I looked down I realized I was in a huge shirt, I was filled with confusion until the door opened to the room and the male from the other day came over to me.

"Sign this now." He said.

"No, I don't even know what it is. Where am I? Why are you monitoring my heart? Why am I getting fluids?" I questioned.

"You have been passed out for a week now sign this paper for the use of my supplies." He growled.

I groaned lightly and grabbed the pen from his hand. I signed the paper only to earn a smirk from him. He stood up and walked out of the room leaving me more confused than before. I had probably just signed my death certificate but I would rather be dead than stuck here the rest of my life. I held my head once again as a strong headache fell upon me causing the machine to beep rapidly. The door to the room burst open and the male from earlier entered the room again.

"Lay down now. Stop thinking about whatever you're thinking." He said coldly.

I did as he said while we both watched the lady checking my vital signs. She smiled before turning and saying,

"She is fine Alpha. Crossbreeding is out of the question for now but it's an option for another day." I looked at him while he nodded his head taking in all the information.

"Thank you Daryl." Once she was gone, he turned to me with the sternest and scariest look before saying,

"You are now my wife. You will live in this house and bear my children."

"I'm a weak human." I protested.

"I'll train you but for now you will heal." He said sternly.

"That's what the paper was. Can I at least go see my family?" I asked.

"No you shall never cross over the threshold of his house." He stated.

I nodded my head and slowly turned to my side. I closed my eyes ignoring the pain I felt in my head, heart, and side. I heard the machine beeping and the male sat down beside me.

"Sit up." He said.

I denied his request so he got up and walked over to the other side of the bed. He placed his hand on my side and kissed my forehead making the pain go away while also silencing the machine. I felt sleep falling upon me and I yawned before drifting off to sleep knowing this was all one big scary nightmare.
