You arrive at your house, and your mom was in the dining room with her friend.
-Hello!- you exclaim to your mom and guest. You felt in no mood to talk, but if you didn't greet the guest, you would pay the price with your mom since whether you were an adult or not, you had to be polite in your mom's house
after greeting them, you head upstairs and let out a groan as you lay on your bed facing downwards, you were watching TV for a while, lying on your bed facedown without bothering to remove your makeup and change into pajamas when you get a phone call but since your phone was in your handbag in the chair at the entrance of the room, you let it keep ringing
The ringing stops for a couple of seconds, just for your phone to start ringing again, and it happens again a couple of times until it stops. You knew it probably was Mingyu calling, and you didn't understand why you were this upset, but you were still acting on it and letting him speak to a wall
After a minute, the phone starts ringing again; you angrily stand up from the bed and rush to grab your phone, you angrily answer the phone without thinking twice
-what the fuck do you want, Mingyu?- you exclaim loudly at the phone, but the voice in the other end flushes your soul out of your body
-It's Jaehyun- Your fiancée says and makes a pause
the pause felt eternal, and you knew exactly what he was thinking
-I was calling because I missed you...- Jaehyun says, and you automatically smile
-So soon?- you say
-Now I can't be missing my fiancée? wow- Jaehyun says, pretending to be hurt
-No, no, I get it, I miss you too- You reply. However, you felt hesitant to say it, and you beat yourself up for feeling this way. Usually, you would mean it, but why didn't your body feel that aching of awfully missing someone so much?
-So I was talking to my friend Doyoung and check this, he said he heard of an opening for the marketing department close to where he works, and he gave me the contact info of the people there- Jaehyun says
-Wait, really? wow, babe, that's amazing!- You look around your room hurriedly to find a pen and paper, but since there was none, you go downstairs to the kitchen. You are writing down the contact information when you hear the doorbell ring.
You go to open the door and see that it's Mingyu. His face looks pissed.
-I have to go, babe, love you!- you tell Jaehyun as you hang up, and Mingyu rolls his eyes
-what the fuck y/n?!- He asks in a demanding manner
-Do you know how long I was looking for you? I went around asking people if they had seen my "girlfriend" and that made me look awful. I overheard the wives of my coworkers saying things, and- Mingyu pauses and takes a deep breath
-You could've at least told me- he says, fixing his posture
-You were busy with your client, and I didn't want to bother your important conversation- you say
-You don't bother me, y/n. What makes you think that?- he asks
you shrug your shoulders, and the sound of laughter from your mom and her friend resonate all the way to the front of the house, so Mingyu quietly grabs you by your wrist and pulls you next to his car where it's away from the lights and dead silent
-If you wanted to leave, you should've told me so you could've saved yourself the trouble of looking for a taxi. I know that ever since your dad died in a car crash, you won't drive, and I get that, but I also get worried sick at the thought of you grabbing a taxi in the night, alone. Especially when you drank as you did- Mingyu looks into your eyes with worry
