Logan tapped the steering wheel of his car. He was crazy doing this, they lived in Delaware! It'll take forever to reach the Gulf of Mexico!
But, he couldn't allow Patton to go on his own, even if he is bringing Zoe with him. Plus, he wanted to see if Patton was telling the truth.
Logan managed to at least convince Patton to take a plane. He didn't want to, saying 'angels' could try to stop them from reaching Virgil and Roman, but Logan reminded him that angel's don't hurt humans.
So they got last minute flights to Tampa, Florida.
Logan had to call a week out of work, he hoped it would take less time to take care of this but he wanted to be safe.
"So, I just want to make sure I have everything right. Ethan is an angel who is trying to kill Virgil. Virgil's father is Lucifer and Lucifer sent Roman, who is the demon Romulus, to protect him," Logan stated.
"I know you don't believe me, but yeah all of that is true," Patton said. "You don't have to come with me to Florida."
"I already called out for the week. Besides, whether all of that is true or not the fact is Virgil and Roman are apparently in the Gulf of Mexico or somewhere in Tampa, Florida. When we get there we can contact the police."
"I doubt they would be able to do anything about this." Patton's phone lit up when he got a message. He glanced at it, not expecting it to be as important as what was happening, then took a double look. "Roman messaged me!"
"What did he say?"
Patton quickly unlocked his phone and looked at the message before reading out loud. "'Hey Patton, sorry for scaring you earlier. Virgil's okay, but he's worried about you, we hope you're okay. I brought him to my brother-' darn it Roman!"
"Calm down, what else did he say?"
"Right, sorry. 'I brought him to my brother and they took care of my stab wound so you're not getting rid of me anytime soon. Remus wouldn't dare hurt Virgil, so don't freak out.' Oh I'm freaking out. 'I'll try to bring Virgil home as soon as possible but I want to make sure he'll be safe before I do that.'"
"Roman got stabbed?"
"I told you about that, but you didn't believe me." Patton typed a response. "I'll try to get them to tell me where they are."
"That would be smart."
"Oh great, they're in an underwater palace! Perfect!" Patton said passive aggressively. He sighed, "I'm sorry, I'm really stressed."
Logan put his hand on Patton's shoulder. "It's okay, I understand. Virgil is your nephew and he's missing."
"I just don't know-" Patton cut himself off. He saw a winged figure in the rear view mirror.
"What is it?" Logan asked when Patton turned around.
"I think we're being followed." Patton turned to look out his window.
"We're on the highway, how can you tell?"
"Because it's not a car that's following us." Patton unbuckled his seat belt. "This is so illegal and Virgil would kill me if he found out what I'm about to do."
"What are you doing? We're going over 60 miles per hour!"
"Do you trust me?"
"What are we, school kids?"
"Logan, do you trust me?"
The teacher sighed. "For the most part."
"Then I'm taking the wheel."
