AVA HELD HER BREATH AS THEY WALKED DOWN THE CORRIDOR,

All around them were clones. From foetuses in tubes, to younglings, to adults. There were hundreds of thousands of them.

Obi-Wan nodded, "Very impressive."

"I'd hoped you would be pleased." Lama Su replied, "Clones can think creatively. You will find that they are immensely superior to droids." He explained before they came to a window where young children were being trained on monitors, "We take great pride in our combat education and training programs. This group was created about five years ago."

"You mentioned growth acceleration." Obi-Wan commented,

"Oh, yes, it's essential. Otherwise, a mature clone would take a lifetime to grow. Now we can do it in half the time."

"I see."

"They are totally obedient... taking any order without question. We modified their genetic structure... to make them less independent than the original host." Lama Su clarified,

"And who was the original host?" Ava questioned,

"A bounty hunter called Jango Fett." He answered,

Obi-Wan and Ava shared a look. The Kamonians just confirmed that the bounty hunter was from their planet,

"And where is this bounty hunter now?" Obi-Wan asked the Prime Minister,

"Oh, we keep him here. Apart from his pay, which is considerable... Fett demanded only one thing: an unaltered clone for himself." Lama Su informed them, "Curious, isn't it?"

 "''Unaltered?'" The Jedi Master asked,

"Pure genetic replication. No tampering with the structure to make it more docile... and no growth acceleration." He clarified,

Ava stared down at the fully grown clones training to fight, "He wanted a child?"

"I should very much like to meet this Jango Fett." Obi-Wan said,

"I would be very happy to arrange it for you." Taun We replied,

They led the Jedi Master and the Padawan to a balcony that overlooked the clones dressed in white armour, marching in quadrants,

"Magnificent, aren't they?"

They were led to another area of the station until they got to a door. Taun We pressed the buzzer and a young boy answered,

"Boba, is your father here?" Taun We asked,

He nodded, "Yep."

"May we see him?"

"Sure." Boba gave Ava and Obi-Wan a strange look before leaving the door open for them to enter, "Dad, Taun We's here."

A man stepped out of the refresher, adjusting the sleeves of his shirt, "Jango, welcome back. Was your trip productive?" Taun We asked the bounty hunter,

"Fairly." He answered, moving his gaze to the visitors,

"This is Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan Ava Skywalker." The two bowed in greeting and Jango nodded, "They've come to check on our progress."

"Your clones are very impressive. You must be very proud." Ava told him,

He smirked at her, "I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe."

Obi-Wan glanced between them before speaking, "Ever made your way as far into the interior as Coruscant?" He asked the bounty hunter,

"Once or twice." Jango answered,

"Recently?"

Ava could sense the tension between the two. Even without him straight out confessing that he sent the mercenary to kill the senator, they knew it was him. He was the bounty hunter they were looking for. And he knew it, too.

"Possibly."

"Then you must know Master Sifo-Dyas." Obi-Wan suggested,

Jango walked further into the room and spoke to his clone youngling in a different language before turning back to them, "Master who?"

Ava watched as the child walked towards the refresher and closed the door, her eyebrows furrowing in thought,

"Sifo-Dyas. Is he not theJedi who hired you for this job?" The Jedi Master asked,

"Never heard of him." Jango responded,

Jango took a step towards Obi-Wan and the two held eye contact. She was waiting to see who would break first.

"Really?"

"I was recruited by a man called Tyranus on one of the moons of Bogden." Jango explained,

"Curious."

"Do you like your army?" The bounty hunter asked,

"I look forward to seeing them in action." Obi-Wan answered,

"They'll do their job well. I'll guarantee that." He stated,

"Thank you for your time, Jango." Obi-Wan bowed and Ava followed suit,

"Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi." He told them before Obi-Wan grabbed Ava's arm gently and they left the room, leaving the bounty hunter to watch after them,
