AFTER A SMALL ARGUMENT between Obi-Wan and Anakin, Senator Padmé retired to her room. Obi-Wan followed Typho downstairs to count his men while Ava and Anakin stayed on the floor where Padmé slept.
Once Obi-Wan had left, Padmé came out a discussed a plan between the two siblings. They programmed R-2 to sense any danger and placed him in Padmé's room. Once finished, the two Skywalker siblings walked back into the main room.
Anakin glanced at the cameras that were placed in Padmé's room while Ava watched the city, "It took a while to get used to everything. I had to make my own breakfast and get up all on my own." Anakin started as he sat on the couch.
Ava looked away from the window and smiled sadly at her brother, "It took me awhile to get used to, also. I would make breakfast for two and only realize I was alone after I had called out your name." She looked back out the window, "Ani... Is it bad to say that I almost regret this life? I wish I was still on Tatooine with you and mother, living in our small hut. I get to see the galaxy, yes, but nothing compares to family."
"You shouldn't say that, Ava. This is a chance of a lifetime." He stood and walked over to his older sister, "Besides, we're together again at last."
"At last." She sighed, "But how much longer before we're separated again and I won't see you for another ten years?"
Anakin stared at her before the door opened once again and Obi-Wan walked into the room,
"Typho has more than enough men downstairs. No assassin would try that way. Any activity up here?" The Jedi Master asked, making eye contact with Ava,
"Quiet as a tomb." Anakin answered, walking towards his Master, "I don't like just waiting here for something to happen to her."
Obi-Wan took a device out of his pocket that allowed him to see into Padmé's room, "What's going on?"
"She covered the cameras." Ava answered, walking over,
"I don't think she liked me watching her." Anakin commented and Ava rolled her eyes,
Obi-Wan began walking towards her room, "What is she thinking?"
Ava put her hand on the older man's arm to stop him, "She programmed R-2 to warn us if there is an intruder."
He looked down at her, "There are many other ways to kill a senator."
"I know, but we also want to catch this assassin, don't we, Master?" Anakin smirked,
"You're using her as bait." The Jedi Master realized, crossing his arms.
"It was her idea. Don't worry; no harm will come to her. I can sense everything going on in that room. Trust me." Anakin explained, looking down at his feet,
"It's too risky." Obi-Wan and Anakin glanced back at the bedroom door, "Besides, your senses aren't that attuned my young apprentice."
"And yours are?" Anakin asked.
Obi-Wan turned back towards Anakin, his eyebrows raised, "Possibly."
ANAKIN KEPT WATCH WHILE Ava stood on the balcony, looking for any suspicious activity "You look tired."
She turned to see Obi-Wan approaching, "I don't sleep well anymore." Ava said before turning back towards the city,
"Do you still have dreams?" He asked, standing next to her.
Ava nodded, "Sometimes of Anakin, sometimes of my mother. Every time they end in death and despair." She sighed,
"Dreams pass, in time." Obi-Wan told her,
"But I've been having these dreams for over ten years. Long before you and Qui-Gon landed on Tatooine." Ava shook her head, "They scare me."
"Have you told Master Yoda about these dreams?" He asked, leaning against the railing,
Ava let out a small, humorless laugh, "And tell him about the fear I feel? He barely allowed for Anakin to be trained because of the fear he felt and Ani was only nine! I'm twenty-five, Obi-Wan, it would be unacceptable! I'd be exiled or killed." She began to walk away,
He grabbed her arm and pulled her back, "I won't let that happen."
They leaned into one another, their faces getting closer, "I can't help but feel. It's who I am." Ava whispered.
They both paused at the same time when they felt a disturbance,
"I sense it, too!" Obi-Wan exclaimed before the three rushed into Padmé's room.
Anakin jumped up onto her bed, ignites his lightsaber, and chops the creatures in half. Padmé' sat up with a gasp and Ava spotted a droid back away from the window.
"Ava!" Obi-Wan yelled as she jumped through the window and grabbed onto the droid before flying off.
