"Naziya Begum aapko nahi lagta ki humne apne bete ke saath zyaadti ki hai, "Junaid asked his wife as they were preparing for sleep.
Naziya, who was settling some clothes at that time looked at her husband. He had never said anything like that to her. Infact he never said anything when they couldn't have more children after their son. Naziya came towards her husband's side and sat beside him.
"Aapko aisa kyun lagta hai.. maine toh kabhi aisa nahi socha."
"Shahyaan se uski pasand cheen lena zyadti hai Begum. Chahe hamara beta kuch na kahe lekin aapne aur maine ye kiya hai. Amma ki baaton se laga mujhe. Unke liye unke pote ki khushi sabse upar hai aur hamare liye sirf apne khandaan ke liye ek achi ladki ladki. Hamara beta kahin kho sa gaya hai is beech mein."
Naziya looked at the frown that was etched on the forehead of her husband. The husband with whom she had been through thick and thins of life.
"Aap baat kariyega Shayaan se Junaid," Naziya said after sometime.
His words kept reverberating in her mind. She had been wary of her son adapting the foreign culture in the foreign land, that's why she was a little strict her upbringing but it was only once in a while.
Her son never compliant, when he had to give explanations to his mother regarding the first friend he made in high school who was coincidentally a girl.
"Ammi Amelia sirf hamari achi dost hai. You know she is the only girl who doesn't make me feel awkward."
His graduation and post graduation were smoother.
"Mom, this is Liza, Mike, Ruhaan, kiaan and Clara. They wanted to come home so I invited them. Aap please dekh lijiyega."
Naziya couldn't sleep whole night. Her son had always been obedient and farmabardaar. No, she couldn't do this with him.

Dua was bending and searching something from the refrigerator. She cursed herself for sleeping when the dinner was served but now seeing the not so appealing dal ghost and roti, she was having a hard time.
"Kya hojata agar khane ke time par soti nai dua, kamse kam ammi se kuch acha sa banwa sakte the."
Having no other, she picked some vegetables and as soon as she stood after closing the refrigerator, she bumped to something hard.
'Ya Allah.. she whispered that was loud enough for the other person to held her lest she would have fallen down.
"Are you alright?
The words made dua look at the deep piercing dark chocolate eyes that were having the slightest amount of concern seeing the frown on her forehead. With Shayaan's 6 feet height, dua felt herself short only with 5'2. Her head bumped directly into his chest and she scrunched her head making Shayaan feel her pain.
Her hair were tied in a rough bun and only in the loose t shirt and pants dua felt shy and immediately stepped away not caring of what her cousin would think.
Even though she was fully covered but the lack of dupatta infront of Shayaan made her extremely conscious. After all he was a Na-mehram for her.
Shayaan was looking at the girl infront of him, his cousin, the girl he never interacted for more than five minutes. The meek cousin of his. Dua Zubair Khan was looking absolutely adorable with a frown on her face and so care free for the first time.
It wasn't like that he didn't liked Dua but the eight years of age difference and her reservation made it impossible for him to have a proper conversation with her.
