Part 5

Things were changed and Shayaan didn't knew how he would settle the things now. He had made peace that he was going to get married to armeena, an arranged marriage that's what he had called it.

But the things changed and now he believed that they changed for good.

He entered his room and looked at his bride sitting in the middle of his bed. Her face was covered with the dark red veil that was a part of her dress. The veil that was not even removed after the Nikkah ceremony. It was a necessity of that time but now he felt that it was good.

For the first time in his life Shayaan Junaid Khan didn't knew how he should approach his newly wedded wife. It was supposed to be easy but now the task was looking seemingly difficult. He could see the faint outline of her face, the heavy nose ring that was gently kissing her supple lips, the bangles which were a new addition to her.

Those, red and golden bangles.. how he wished to caress her bangle clad hands. He could even hear the loud thumping of her heart as his feet moved towards the decorated king sized bed.

He walked towards the bed and the slight dip in the bed made his wife aware of their proximity. He felt her toes curl. The jhanjar in her feet was the only source of sound till that moment.

"Assalamualaikum," he greeted her, knowing how she was. He was actually feeling a little left out now. There was a feeling gnawing inside him.

A thought that she doesn't deserve this hasty form of marriage. The thought that she was too pure to be violated by anyone.

Shayaan was rewarded with the soft voice that he had heard multiple times in the last eight months but today there was a slight tremor in it.

"Walekum assalam.." her greeting gave him a sense of responsibility that he suddenly felt towards her.

His wife, she was solely his responsibility and he will do anything to cherish the adorable girl who was right now sitting infront of him. Her tiny stature made him huge. Her head was downwards, her eyes were looking at her own feet.

Wanting to break the silence and awkwardness between them, he took out a rectangular box. His hands moved and softly held her palm, placing the small box in her hands.

"Ye aapka tohfa," he didn't even let his hand touch her unnecessaryily. He wouldn't do anything she wasn't comfortable in. He respected her way too much to even think of anything right now.

The chaos that filled in his heart was much more than what was filled in their lives at that moment.

She held the box and he found it now necessary to remove her veil. He carefully removed the red veil that made him look at the beautiful girl whose eyes were downcast-ed  and he felt the urge to make her look at him.

"Aap bahut khoobsurat hain Dua," his words made her look at him. He couldn't help to but feel pride looking at her confused eyes which were feeling a tsunami of untold emotions.

"Aap.. aap khush hain humse Nikkah karke? She instead questioned him.

She was getting half with worry as how he would have felt when Armeena had accused him of the crime, he didn't knew.

He held her free hand, one was still holding the gift he had given her and caressed it.

"Aapne humpe tab aitbaar kiya jab sabko laga tha hum galat hain, aap ka yakeen tha Sophie was lying toh hum kaise Mana karte ek aisi ladki se nikaah karne ke liye jisne hamara yakeen tootne nai diya. This relationship is new Dua, aapke liye bhi aur hamare liye bhi par hum poori koshish karenge ise nibhane ki. Aapko kabhi koi shikayat ka mauka nahi denge.'
