Beholding trust

Part 6

"Meri zaara.." the words were enough for shahyaan to know what was the cause of distress for his wife.

It was the moment he realised that all those tears and the wet pillow wasn't just a mere shadow of her past but it was actually the present that was somewhere killing her deep day by day.

Shahyaan couldn't sleep that night, his wife was distressed. He moved and opened the almirah, after searching so much, he found a crumbled paper amongst her clothes.

He looked at that paper and his eyes were moist.

There was a days old zaara in her mama's arms and asbah was kissing her head. Shahyaan looked at his wife and then at the picture in his hand, he finally understood the missing piece of their relation.

It was zaara, the precious baby that should be here with her mother.

He caressed the photograph and carefully kept it back on the place back.

That night he couldn't sleep, his thoughts were scattered all over her.

Asbah's puzzle was finally solved. He couldn't help, he felt his eyes stinging with tears. He had lost his wife in the past. Fariya was his best friend before his wife, he had felt the love for her but his emotions were haywire when he looked at Asbah.

Like her name, she was such a pure soul who couldn't even say what was bothering her.

Asbah stirred a little and tried to move away and didn't let her, instead he pulled her closer to him, held her in his arms.

He wiped the lone tear that escaped from her eyes and kissed the crown of her head.

His realisation was huge, he had fallen for the brave lady in his arms, his wife, his Asbah and he will do anything to make her happy.

"Ya Allah, madad kar!!! He whispered and prayed to the almighty to make everything fine.

A month later

Asbah was working in the kitchen, one thing that always kept her occupied was daily chores that she insisted doing on her own. But there was something that was off with her. Her husband has been busy now more what he used to be. He would ignore her sometimes, and now she felt like crying.

Only last night shahyaan had shouted on her because she had asked him why he was late.

Last night

Asbah was pacing worriedly, it was already one and Shahyaan was late again, it was now happening frequently and he wouldn't even respond to her calls.

She was about to call him again when she heard some footsteps. She turned and saw her husband, the first thing that she noticed was any kind of injury on him.

She was being paranoid, she knew that but it was now a habit. She immediately moved and took his coat from his hands.

"Where were you Shahyaan? Kitne calls kiye maine, aap na apna cell phone utha rahe the na office ke calls."

Her tone was accusatory and Shahyaan was already having a tired day, things were getting out of hand, he was finding a way to resolve the problems that he was facing.

He was never questioned like this before. Not That Fariya never Complaint but it wasn't like this.

"Kaam tha late ho gaya Asbah why are you getting so hyper." He rebuked irritatingly.
