"hold up, you're saying a boy from hage? the village we were just at before the exams, managed to be one of golden dawn? captain-"

yvane tried to clarify your blabbering and here you are cutting her off again. "yes!" you nodded, dramatically wiping off invisible tears and fanning your face.

"he's not a noble? not a royal?" you shook your head.

"eh?" yvane sighs nervously.

"look, believe it or not, he isn't. not a noble nor a royal. a commoner just like me.. yet he has great power yvane, i saw. he flipped salim out like nothing!"

"alright, i believe you. but you know everyone here.. you know they won't treat him as they do to you." she sighs once again.

"i am aware, although i am looking forward to that boy." you smiled as assurance to your friend.

'i am sure he will prove them wrong.' you thought with high hopes.

you and yvane decided to have a walk around the base while waiting for the new member, william should be taking him back any moment now.

you plopped into the seat at the guards tower next to the gate.

"have a seat for a minute yvane.. we've been walking around for a while now, your feets might get sore." you pat the seat next to you and wind blows to your direction.

yvane nods and seats herself right beside you while you gaze at the clear skies.

"hey isn't that captain?" she speaks.

you hum, looking towards the gate and there your captain lands his broom swiftly.

"let's go greet him, he should be with the new guy but i don't see anyone else.." you mumble, grabbing your best friend's wrist and pulling her to the stairs.

upon arriving infront of the man, you both salutes to him and he only gives a wry smile back.

"welcome back captain vangeance."

"good evening ms diana and ms yvane." he greets back.

just then, yvane's body tenses so suddenly.

"oh no... my team is calling and something's up, i have to go check on them. welcome back captain." she salutes once again before running off just after waving goodbye to you.

"ms yvane had always have the ability to hear more than average, doesn't she?" william chuckles out just when your best friend is out of sight.

you nod with a small smile, "it still fascinates me."

"mind walking me to my quarters y/n?" he suggests.

"i would be glad to, william."

he gives a smirk towards you and you cringe, "ugh it's still weird to hear me calling you by first name." and both of you cracks into laughter.

knocking on his door three times before leaning to the door and whispering into the keyhole, "captain?"
