"captain? i've bought you tea.. shall i come in?" you called out yet to no avail, you sighed and decided to let yourself in.

once you step in the room you see your captain peacefully sleeping. it's been months since the attack and william grew more and more busier as each day pass by.

he rarely had time to converse. you always came by his office only to catch him asleep on his desk and everytime you come over his chambers, you'll be welcomed by the same thing.

you both will have conversations when you timed that he's working or when you spot him heading somewhere. the last time you had a normal conversation was when he assigned a simple task for you to help out the residents with their farms as a flu had been spreading in their village.

you came back to no william welcoming you back and questions with how did your mission go.

it seems like he's distancing himself yet if you think things thoroughly, he do have a lot more work and being the captain of the most promising squad, his duties just get more serious.

"captain?" you called once more after you closed the door, the man shifted on his desk and slowly opened his tired eyes.

"Y/N? ah good afternoon, i zoned off for a moment..." he mumbled with his husky voice and shook his head to fully awaken his senses.

you grew soft at the sight, witnessing moments as this made you forget you were upset.

"captain, it's evening."

you flashed him a kind smile, placed the tea mug on his table and walked towards his back.

"may i?" without waiting for an answer, you softly massaged his temples as you felt him relax under your touch.

the thoughts in your mind can never be what you think they are. he'll never go against his kingdom.

he'll never go against what you both swore to protect.

on the other hand, william was surprised that you're still next to him at this point when he knew that he has been practically pushing you away the past whole month.

he could see it through your eyes like an open book written in bold letters, even just now when you corrected the time for him.

you were too easy to read. you were too easy on everything.

yet here you are making him feel like he's not alone.. the one thing you never fail to do.

"you should rest, will." you mumbled, hands still doing magic on his temples which relived his tensed and numb head.

your words sent him back to reality that he still have endless of paperworks to do and so he started stretching his arms out and going to hold his pen- but you beat him to it, hiding the pen on your back playfully.

the man unconsciously gave you a stern look before speaking in a monotone, "hand it back, Y/N. this is not the time for plays." you gulped at his sudden attitude.

he can sure be that kind and soft piece of william but he can also be terrifying when angry. you would definitely not recommend one angry william vangeance to others.

"n-no.." you replied and unexpectedly stuttered.

sighing, you gave him a stern look aswell. "i'm not giving it back to let you overwork yourself to death. get some rest will, worry for your health."

"you're in no position to tell me what i should do with my body, ms diana."

your stern expression breaks into a confused one.

'did he just ask-' even your thoughts broke down.

you inhaled a deep breath.

"i'm someone who actually cares about you more than anyone else, is a simple request to take care of yourself so hard for you? and you're asking what's my position in your life?"

you snap, "i'm your.. friend william. if i'm wrong then start figuring it out."

you slam the pen on his table, "atleast appreciate what i do before you can't."

william was in a daze a few moments after you spoke, his door slamming hard took him back to earth and just then did he realize what he had said to you.

the man took a deep breath and sighed heavily.

"just great."

"Y/N?" liviana comes out of your shirt, you're sure she's heard everything. "are you okay?"

"let's.. not talk about it for now, go with amihan back at the base and find yvane. ask her to come for me back here as i have a request for her." you tell liviana and the sylph could only nod.

she saw how sad and confused your eyes read, and she didn't want to make you feel worse if she tried to comfort you right after what happened.

"got it.. stay here and don't do anything without me okay? i'll be back." the small creature hugged your shoulder the best she could and you summoned amihan from your grimoire.

right when the two were gone, you sighed.

you looked up at the moon and stared.

'calm your mind, child.' someone spoke, the usual calm and gentle voice says.

the voice in your head, or the woman in the moon, as people and books tell, artemis. who has been your run away therapist for the past years. she always had the right words for the right situations.

'i can't control it.' you respond in your thoughts.

'breathe.'

you did as she says, you inhaled deep and sighed it out.

a few seconds later, you ask..

'why do i feel this way?'

yet there was no reply.

'artemis?' you ask again.

'.. human knowledge shall be extended to a certain boundary, what i know and see is not something your human mind can handle, my child.' she replies.

'what are you trying to say?'

'what you feel is neither anger or a simple liking, listen to what your mind says and feel your heart. yourself will answer your questions.'

you closed your eyes and sighed once more, and a few minutes staying under the moon, a familiar neigh of your pegasus were heard.

as amihan lands on the very top of the skull at hage village, you see yvane dropping from the carriage and running to you.

you assumed liviana had already told her, her worried expression says all.

"Y/N... after what happened with which liviana had filled me in with on the way here.. we have a problem."

"what do you mean?" you say as you sit up.

"you have a letter from the wizard king, it's a mission for you and.. the captain."
