Rest.
Even if you think you don't need to or can't afford to. Even if your parents or teachers or friends say you shouldn't or never do themselves. Rest. Rest is sacred and rest is necessary and rest is severely underrated by most people. Rest isn't only a form of self-care, it's a form of self-respect. So, rest whenever you feel the need. Your body and mind will thank you in the form of greater productivity and improved mental well-being.
Rest can take many forms. It's not just getting enough sleep or taking a coffee break or deciding to leave some chores undone for now. Rest is also stepping out of your head for a while and hitting pause on all the mental demands and expectations, worries and wants, that are set on repeat in your mind. Rest is saying I'm good enough just as I am right now in this moment. I don't need to do more, to be more. This is me and this is plenty good.
Now I understand that the world as it currently is can make resting nearly impossible. Believe me, I know. But the world as it currently is doesn't care about the things that really matter and is consequently full of shit. Do whatever you must to tell those voices (or people) that say rest is just another word for laziness to politely (or not so politely) go fuck themselves.
So, my dear lovely, whenever you need it, show yourself the utmost of respect. Rest.
