Lows growl echoed in the long hallways of the Lycan castle. The Lycan king was unhappy with the discussion of the current meeting he was attending.
"King Xander, We need your assistance in this war, we can't risk to have any more casualties!" The vampire king, Alejandro, stated as he begged the Lycan king with his eyes. He was going on a war against the Dragon King because he wouldn't let him come to his territory, in search of his mate. The dragon king, Dominic, saw this as opposition against his entire race, and gave the vampire king an ultimatum. Either he lets Dominic come search for his mate, or he will one by one set fire on every vampire village in the continent.
Alexander has been friends with the 140 year old dragon king since he was a pup. They've always been allies and close friends. Although he was also allies with the vampire king, they weren't as close.
"Let me search through your territories Alejandro, trust me, going so long without ones mate can cause them to do unspeakable things. You know Dominic is my oldest friend, but i'm not getting in between you two in this silly war. You let him in peacefully, then your problem is solved." Alexander grumbled, getting frustrated with him. He just wanted to be done with this meeting, and go back to his sweet little mate. He slept through the night with his angel nestled in his arms, it was the best sleep he's gotten in his life. But he was missing her like crazy, and the long meetings that dragged till late afternoon didn't help his mood.
"Ok, you're right, what could go wrong? unless we have an unwilling female," Alejandro said, mumbling the last part. after they were done with their meeting, Alex got ready and drove towards his little mate's place.

Meanwhile, little Ophelia was in the garden, reading one of her books while she waited for her mate to come. When she woke up in the morning, she started crying her heart out, thinking that her Xandy has left her unlike he promised. Her mother was the one to let her know that he did stay the night like he promised, but he got an important work call in the morning, so he unfortunately had to leave before she woke up. That calmed Ophelia down a little bit, but she was still upset about not seeing him. The minute she heard the screeching noise of car wheels, she forgot all about the book as she threw it on the floor somewhere. She ran towards the parked car, at the same time the Lycan king got out and looked around, spotting his angel when he saw a small figure running towards him. He chuckled and opened his arms as she jumped into it and wrapped her legs around his waist. They hugged each other tightly and swayed left to right, relaxing in each other's arms.
"Hi my precious angel, I see you've missed me as much as i have," he said with a deep voice, squeezing her thighs tightly. She blushed and hid her face in the crook of his neck. After awhile, he put her down on the ground and gave her small nose a peck. She scrunched her nose and giggled, looking into his eyes. He smiled softly at his precious mate, caressing her soft cheeks with his thumb.
"I missed you so much Xandy, I thought you left me last night, but momma told me you had to work," she said, a small tear dropping from her beautiful eyes. Alex got upset when he saw her tear and wiped it with his thumb. He hugged her tightly and ran his large hands up and down her back, calming her and himself down. He wanted to be there when she woke up in the morning, but his beta had called and informed him of few issues in the pack and company he had to attend.
"I'm so sorry angel, I had some work to do that's why I left very early. I didn't want to wake you up because you looked so peaceful. please don't cry my love, you know i would never leave you" He said looking into her emerald eyes. She nodded and gave a little kiss on his chin, as she couldn't reach his cheek. Xander grinned at her action and held her chubby cheeks in his large hands.
"You're so precious my flower," He whispered and watched her blush again. He chuckled and leaned towards her.
"can I kiss you angel?" he whispered into her ear, getting excited at the thought of her plump lips on his.
"yes," she said quietly, and looked at his lips.
The Lycan king didn't waste any time and leaned in towards her. the minute their lips touched, he decided that it was the best feeling in the world. He grabbed the back of her neck gently and kissed her with more need. As they continued to kiss, Ophelia could feel herself run out of breath, so she put her small hands on his muscular chest to push him a little bit. He pulled away and saw his angel panting, her cheeks a crimson color.
"Я зависим от тебя" he said, looking at her swollen pink lips, his mind repeating the kiss over and over again. She hugged him again, hiding her face in his chest as he chuckled at his shy little mate.
"come on baby, let's go inside it's chilly" he said and grabbed her small hands in his. They walked inside the cottage and the smelled the food that was cooking.
"Momma, Xandy is here!" Ophelia said loudly, walking into the kitchen where her mother was. Cecelia turned away from the stove and looked towards her daughter, smiling as she saw that the frown which has been on her face since she woke up long gone. Her daughter was way too attached to the Lycan king, but she was happy that he was a decent man.
"good afternoon, i'm cooking dinner you should join us," she said, her attention back on the food. Alex nodded and followed his angel towards the living room.
When they sat on the couch, he decided it was time to tell her about them living in his place. Xander loved visiting his angel everyday, but his beast couldn't control his urges anymore. He needed his mate by him at all times, and the world needed their Lycan queen. He just needed a way to tell her, without her getting upset about having to leave her mother. The last he wanted was to make her sad, so he had to approach the topic gently.
