"AH HOLY SHIT!!!" I jump away from Akane when he suddenly appears by my side.

He jumps too, for some reason. "Ack! What!?!"

I sigh, hand against my chest. "I'm not used to this ghost thing yet." I'm walking to the dorm without Jiji since he needed to help pick up the festival.

Akane chuckles. "Gee, at first I thought I looked like the devil or something."

"Well, you're not wrong." I reply.

He raises an eyebrow. "Meaning?"

"You look mad enough to kill someone." I say.

His eyes widen before he smacks his face. "Better?"

"No, now you just look like a crazy person. What's up with you?"

I look at him through the corner of my eyes to see him shrug. "Nothing, really. I just kinda wish I was alive."

I blink before turning to him. "How come?"

He blushes, grabbing the back of his neck. "I-... I dunno. I just wish I was. Then I could be friends with you and talk with you whenever I wanted without people looking at you weird."

I frown before chuckling. "You are my friend, Akane. And you could always talk to me. It'll just be a one-sided conversation."

He sighs. "I guess. Anyways, did you have fun?"

I laugh, blushing a bit. "Yeah. It was really fun."

Akane looks at my face before chuckling. "That's good. Amajiki coming soon?"

I nod. "He's helping take apart the festival. I offered to help, but Jiji insisted I go back to the room and rest. I guess he's still worried because of my little panic attack."

Akane's eyes widen. "Another panic attack? I thought those stopped."

I shrug. "Me too. But I guess my abandonment issues are getting to me since my foster family kicked me out."

He cringes a bit. "Sheesh. Life is treating you so well these days."

I laugh. "I agree." I open my dorm and go in, turning on the lights. The room smells a lot like Jiji. Like orange blossoms, a soft smell and unassuming. I sit on the bed, grabbing the remote from the nightstand and turning on the TV. "What do you wanna watch?" I ask Akane as he sits beside me, not effecting the bed in any way.

"Dunno. Anything new?"

"Tch. I don't know. I'll just scroll, and if you see anything that interests you, lemme know." I bring my legs up on the bed, sitting criss cross.

"Alright."

I'm in the same position, but Akane is laying on the bed with his head hanging off of it. We're watching a supernatural movie but I turn it off when the door opens softly.

Akane looks over before sighing. "That's my queue. We'll talk later, I guess." And he disappears.

I blink before turning to Jiji, whose coming towards me without a word.

"Jiji?"

Without replying, he comes on the bed and wraps his arms around me from behind me, his legs on either side of me and his feet dangling off the side of the bed. He buries his face into my neck, just holding me here.

I stay still, letting him rest there. "Jiji? Are you okay?"

"Mm." He replies.

I chuckles softly. "That's not an answer. You tired?"
