Makayla's POV:

It was the last day of Christmas break. The past week and a half have been great. Me and king have been inseparable. Everywhere I go, king is right by my feet.

Most of my break has been spent hanging out with my family or reading. Lucky I finished all of my homework in the first three days of break. I've also made sure to study for the Spanish test we have when we get back.

Right now I'm in the kitchen baking a cake. One of the books that I got for Christmas was a book full of baking recipes. So far I've made chocolate chip cookies, brownies, bloodies, apple hand pies and confetti cupcakes.

Right now I'm making a red velvet cake. When I came down he this morning I saw my book open to this page. I could tell that someone clearly wanted me to make it.

My timer went off and I grabbed my two cake pans from the oven. Once I set the down I carefully checked them both with a tooth pick. When I pulled out the tooth pick it was clean so I know my cakes are done.

I turn off the oven and leave the cakes to cool. Next I decided to get to work on the cream cheese frosting. I started by adding a lot of cream cheese, then I add some powdered sugar, vanilla extract and a dash of heavy whipping cream.

Once all of that was combined into my frosting, I added half of it to a pipping bag, and another half to a bowl. Now that my cakes where cool, it was time to start decorating.

I started off by leveling the cakes off. I put the cake crumbs into a bowl for later. Next I added some frosting to the top of one cake then placed the other cake on top of that.

Once my cakes where stacked, I started to get to work on my crumb coat. A crumb coat is just a light layer of frosting to make sure that the cake stays smooth.

When I finished the crumb coat, I popped the cake in the fridge to set. "Whatcha doing" I herd someone ask. I turn around to find Zander smiling down at me.

"Oh I was just baking a cake" I told him. "Oh, is it ready yet" he asked getting excited. "No. I just put it into the fridge so that the crumb coat can chill" I told you.

"How much longer" he whined. I thought about it for a second before saying, "At least forty-five minutes". Zander's mouth fell to the ground. "Forty five minutes" he gapped at me.

"Decorating a cake takes time" I told him. He lets out a loud sigh before leaving the kitchen. I swear all these boys ever do is eat.

After another ten minutes of waiting I took my cake out of the fridge. I applied the final coat of frosting before. Using the cribs that I cut off of the cake early I put it in the side of the cake.

I then added some spirals to the top of the cake before putting it back in the fridge to chill. I cleaned up the mess that I made before heading out of the kitchen.

Once I started to leave the kitchen king got up from his spot in the floor and started following me. He's been sitting on the floor watching me this entire time.

As I was walking up to my room I saw Ethan leaving from the basement. I am getting more and more curious about what's down there. I'm sure it's probably really boring, but still I see everyone coming from down there.

"Hey caramella, what are you and king up to" Ethan asked me. "We where just gonna head up to my room to read" I told him. "I've been smelling something amazing coming from the kitchen. Do you know anything about that" he asked me. (Sweetie)

"Oh, well I just baked a red velvet cake" I shrugged. I saw a small smile form on his face. "I'm guessing you got Luke's hint" he chuckled.

"If your talking about what he did with my cook book then yes" I answered. "Is the cake ready" he asked me once he finished laughing.
