Makayla's POV:
I sat in the car mulling over the information that I had just received. I have family, and they're willing to take me in. But what if they're even worse than Darrell.
Maybe he was the best that it got. It's not like I deserved to be loved. I mean look at me, I'm weak, fat, ugly and so much more.
"We've arrived, dear" Jennie's kind voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I nodded my head in response. "Ok sweetie your brother is right over there" she told me as she removed her seatbelt.
I followed her actions before getting out of the car. Only then did I release that we never went to and airport. Instead we arrived at a private airstrip!
If we're here, that means that my brother is like filthy rich. I'm sure that means, the only reason he's taking me in is because he pity's me. I'm nothing more than a burden to him.
I slowly opened to car door and got out. I winced slightly at the pain in my ankle, but hopefully nobody noticed.
I carefully followed Jennie while keeping my head down. I saw Jennie come to a stop so I did the same. I saw Jennie's black flats out of the corner of my eyes but what spiked my interest was the black leather shoes in front of hers.
Those shoes looked like they where worth more then my house. Slowly, I drew my eyes up the person whom the shoes belong to.
Holy fudge this dude is a literal giant! He had to be at least 6'5 if not more. The thing that surprised me the most was our resemblance. He had the same crystal blue eyes as me, only his felt like ice.
He had brown hair that was slightly spiked and sun kissed skin. That was the biggest difference between the two of us. He looked like he got out and saw sun light whereas I looked as if I've lived in the dark my whole life.
As he looked at me I saw something flash in his eyes, something unfamiliar. But it was gone as soon as it had come. "Makayla this is your eldest brother and your new legal guardian, Archer" Jennie told sweetly.
"Hello" I herd him say in a deep voice. He was really scary and intimating. The thought of living with him sent a wave of shivers down my spine.
I nodded my head telling him hello without speaking. If I thought the the punishments that Sir gave where bad, I'm sure this guy could do way worse. He could snap me in half with his pinky.
I started to panic, finding it rather difficult to breathe. I grabbed my right wrist and dug the nail of my thumb into it. I felt myself being drawn back into reality, still I kept my nail in my wrist.
"I will take Makayla on the plane and then come back to fill out the rest of the paperwork" his cold voice said to Jennie.
"Right of course Mr. DelCastillo" she replied to him. "Follow me" my 'brother' ordered. Keeping my head down I followed him onto the plane. Once aboard I couldn't help but look around in wonder and amazement.
I've never been on a plane before but I know that this was extremely fancy. There were two black leather couches lined up on both sides, and a flat screen tv was hung on the wall.
There was a plush read rug and two people who looked to be the flight crew. "This is the main cabin if you go through that door there's a bedroom that you can sleep in if you want. If there's anything you want to drink or eat then you can just ask Darcey or Alice and they'll help you" I nodded my head locking my eyes with the floor once more.
"I'm going to go fill out the remaining paperwork. Make yourself comfortable. We'll take of in about fifteen minutes" he told me. Agin I nodded my head and watched as his shoes disappeared from my line of sight.
I sat down on one of the plush leather couches, taking off my book bag and placing it beside me. "Hello my name is Alice and that is Darcey. Is there anything that you'd like? Water, or a bag of chips perhaps?" she asked with a kind smile. I shook my head no not wanting to get in trouble. This has to be some kind of test. I know I'm not aloud to eat.
"Ok dear just tell me or Darcey if there's anything that you would like" she told me. I nodded my head for what felt like the thousandth time today.
Alice was a skinny older women. She seemed to be in her late forties or early fifties. Her light brown hair was pulled into a slicked back ponytail, and she wore a kind smile.
Darcey on the other hand seemed mean and off putting. She was of average height, about 5'6, and had long blond hair that was definitely dyed. Her face held a cold glare directed towards me.
I lowered my gaze to my hands that where resting in my lap. After about five minutes of me fidgeting awkwardly with my fingers I heard the distinct click of mens shoes board the plane.
"Welcome aboard Mr. DelCastillo" I herd Darcey say in a sickeningly sweet voice. "Hello" was the short reply that Archer gave.
"Is there anything that I can get you sir" Alice asked him. "Not right now Alice" he said in a much nicer tone. "You know where to find us if either of you change your minds" she told us before dragging Darcey out of the room and into another.
"Get ready for take off" I herd a voice say over the intercoms. I slightly jumped when it came on but it's not like anyone saw. "Have you ever flown before" Archer asked me.
I carefully shook my head and looked up to study his face. I saw a little bit of amusement and awe, but that can't be right. Before I could figure out exactly what it was I felt the plane started to move.
I clung onto the couch like a monkey, scared of all the things that could go wrong. I heard a soft chuckle come from my brother, so quite that I thought I might have imagined it.
Finally the plane reached cruising altitude. I let out a shaky breath and released the couch from my death grip.
I herd some shuffling and saw Archer taking out a shiny computer and some papers. He started clicking away on his computer. After awhile of just sitting there I felt my eyelids grow heavy.
I used my backpack as a pillow and curled up on the couch. Before I knew it I was out cold finally getting a peaceful rest.
