Ch. 10: Jen

•••Jen's Pov•••

I get up and rush to my car. The nurse called and said Jade threw up. I really don't want my baby sick, and just knowing she is tears me apart.

When I reach the school, I park in visitor parking. I walk into the main office to see Jade not in there. "I'm here to sign out Jade Lawrence." I speak. "Ah, Yes. She's in the nurses office. We will send her right down!" Says the lady behind the desk. she starts eyeing me strangely. "You don't beat her do you?" She says. I am taken back by this. "I would never ever hit my baby girl! I couldn't ever see her in pain!" I say with a serious tone. The lady opens her mouth but is interrupted by Jade walking into the room. "Have a nice day..." The woman says.

Jade runs to me and wraps her arms around me. "Mom, can we go to the car?" She says. I nod in reply and we walk to the car. We get in and Jade buries her face in her hands and starts crying. I rub her back to soothe her. "Do you really feel that bad Jade?" I say. She moves her hands away and I see her red and puffy face. I gasp when I notice a bruise forming on her cheek.

"What happened?!" I scream. "Raegan..." she says. "We are going to her house later!"I yell and pull out of the school. "You can't do that. Raegan's parents are on business. There won't be anybody to talk to." she states. "Well, tomorrow we are going to the office and telling the principal." I say furiously. "Okay." Jade says

Today is the day I tell what happened to Jade to the principal. Jade and I walk down the long hallway. Kids try to stop me and get pictures and autographs, but I tell them that I need to take care of Jade just as any other parent would. We arrive at the door and I knock.

After around five minutes, the door opens. I walk in and Jade walks shyly behind. We take a seat in silky black chairs. The principal introduces himself as Mr. Thomas Jason. "Hello, I'm Jennifer Lawrence and this is Jade," I say Motioning to Jade. "We are here because a student by the name of Raegan M." I say but her name burns inside of me furiously. "What's the problem exactly." he says. "Well, you see that bruise on Jade's cheek," He nods in understanding. "Raegan did that! During school yesterday!" I say almost yelling. "Now I see why we have a problem on our hands." he says.

"Jade, what classroom and time did this happen?" he asks Jade. "Um, B109 and at around 8:07." she says. He looks it up on the cameras. "I'm sorry Ms. Lawrence, but someone was blocking the cameras. There is no proof of who it was, we can't punish her." He speaks. This infuriates me!

"What the hell do you mean you can't fucking punish her?!" I yell. "She has a damn bruise on her face!" I say motioning to her face. The principal just looks at me with anger rising. "You know what fuck this school!" I say. "I'm pulling her out of this fucking school! Jade will be taught by her tutor from now on. She will not return to this school!" I yell. The principal just nods. "You can go get your transcripts." He says.

Jade and I get up and she leads me to her 1st block class to get her transcript for English. We walk in during lecture and kids freak out because I'm here. I don't answer questions. I don't say anything while Jade tells her teacher she needs her English transcript. I'm a mom not Jennifer Lawrence at this moment. Then I see Raegan. I want to yell at her and curse her out, but I don't. Instead, I just go out into the hallway and wait for Jade. After the teacher prints it out. We go to all her other classes.

We saw Mason and he looked like he had tears in his eyes when he heard Jade ask for her transcript. I feel bad, but I mean, he will see her in three weeks when training resumes. We walk out of the school and head to the car. Jade latches on to me like a tick. I love her and I know she's hurt, but this is what had to happen! It was my fault that she got slapped and I'll be damned if it happens again.

We park into the drive way and I grab Jade's hand and together we walk inside the house. We sit on the couch and embrace each other. Jade starts to cry into my chest. I rub her back and just comfort her. I barely manage to say I'm sorry.

Not long after Jade falls asleep, I hear the rumbling of keys outside the door. Josh walks in. He sees our situation and the way we are placed with Jades head in my lap asleep and me rubbing her head.

He walks over and kisses us on the cheek and then sits down beside me. "What happened?" he says breaking the silence. "Jade got hit by some little spoiled, ditzy brat and I went to talk to the principal." I say as Josh darts his eyes from me to Jade and gets a hurt look in his eyes. "I pulled her out of school." I say. He just hugs me and gets up and grabs a pillow and thin blanket for Jade.

"Let's go get some sleep. We've all had a hard day." He says. We walk upstairs and lie in our bed. He gives me a passionate kiss full of so much love and care and it quickly escalates. Sleep is one thing we didn't get this afternoon.
