Ch.18: Unexpected

•••Jade's PoV•••

When we got home after picking out the dresses, Jen and I sit on the couch. "I think they took the news very well!" Jen laughs. "I think so too." I giggle. We still have to go to dinner at 5 and it's only three. "Well, I'm pooped. A little pre-dinner pizza never hurt anyone.' she picks up the telephone and dials room service which we don't order often.

A little too soon there is a knock on the door. "You want me to get it mom?" I say hoping she'll say no because I'll get anxiety. 'I got it Honey!" She says getting up to answer the door. I stand behind her.

All of a sudden, I'm staring at James Franco, also known as my biological father. I hear Jen gasp and swish me further back behind her.

"James Why are you here?' she says clearly upset. He gets a puppy dog look in his eyes. "Did you think about it? What I told you in the hospital?" he asks. "No. I don't need to. I don't love you. I love Josh." She says flashing her ring. The hurt is clearly evident. "What's this?" He says opening the door back up from where it was closing. "What's what James?" she says angrily. 'Your stomach. Are you pregnant?" he says with a disgusted face. "It's none of your business!" she yells slamming the door. We can still hear him yelling outside. 'I will make you, Jade , Josh, and that baby's life a living hell!" he yells.

"Shut the fuck up before I call the damn police fucker. Leave now." Jen yells her face is cherry red. "Mom it's okay..." I mumble. "No it's not! I'm going to take a nap! Save me some pizza." Jen says.

Today is gonna be a long day __________________________

When the pizza comes, I grab two slices and go back to the couch. I turn the Tv on and go to E! News channel. A picture of Jen pops up. "Jennifer Lawrence, pregnant and engaged? See coming up on E!" I quickly turn the channel to Disney and watch Jessie.

I remember that my pizza is in my lap, so I bite into it. The pizza sauce is scorching and I burn my tongue. "Hmm, sometimes the it's the things we love most, that destroy us." I laugh. I lie down texting Mason and Grey. Grey told me he is coming to the dinner with Liam, so I'll probably talk to him the whole time.

Eventually it turns four thirty and Jen and I head out of the hotel and head to the restaurant. After driving for a while, we finally get there. We sit down and order. After finally finishing. Jen and Josh stand up and share the news. Their facial expressions where to die for. All of a sudden in the midst of the laughter, Laura checks her phone. By the look on her face, I know she found out about what I saw on the TV. She whispers to Karen, then looks at me. She raises an eyebrow to see if I know and I slowly nod. The tension between us is too much to bare, so I break the silence. "Mom? I'm done. Can Grey and I go to the arcade across the street?" She nods and swishes her hand. Grey and I walk out the door.

In the arcade, I pull out a twenty dollar bill and we start to play. Jen gives me money all the time so no big deal. We play pac man, dance dance, Jumbo Lot, and we are now playing trivia. After I win, I look at Grey. He's pouting at me. I don't know what comes over me but I lean in and so does he. When our lips meet, I feel electricity in my veins.

"Jade what are you doi-" I hear a voice say. I immediately move out of the kiss and turn my head to find Mason looking at me holding hands with Grey. I immediately let go. "Mason! It's not what it looks like. I swear!" I say. "Don't. I actually thought you liked me. I'm going back to my hotel. Goodbye Jade. See ya on set. You are just like Raegan!" he says storming out. I get up to chase after him, but Grey grabs my hand. "He will talk to you when he's ready and if he doesn't he's an idiot." Grey says. I nod and slowly sit back down.
