Chapter 8 - a private talk

The night came and Sonic was just patrolling in and out of Everbrave Village and Hedgehog Village. He was super stressed as he said, "Oh big brother. I won't let you down not ever. But still... I'm afraid. If I loose you like I lost sis it's all my fault." He thought of the times when he and his older siblings were little as he stopped and looked down at the ground. He remembered he and Manic playing pirates and Sonia was pretending to be a mermaid. They fell on their tails and laughed as they tackled each other playfully. Sonic couldn't even forget that day. That's when he sees a certain green bird coming towards his way and said, "Wwweeellllll it's the new Everbrave Village warrior." Sonic glared at him and said, "Can't you see what I'm doing? What do you want Jet?" Then Jet replied, 'Oh Sonic don't be so huffy. I didn't come here to bicker with you or a fight. I'm here to give you a little and simple talk." Sonic huffed and said, "Fine. What is it?" Jet then took a deep breath and said, "Ya may wanna listen and be careful. Cause if you die then so does your brother. You dying means ending up killing you both coma or not." Sonic gasped as he had a shocked look on his face. He remembered that Sonic and Manic was connected with each other and they can also die together as brothers. If one of the brothers die then so does the other one. Sonic and Manic have been born on the same day in two alternate years. Some say in EverBrave village that if a child is born on the same day as its older sibling then he or she dies along with their younger sibling. Sonic then said to Jet, "Alright. Thanks for the reminder. Now leave. I gotta get back to Everbrave." Sonic speeds off as Jet said, "This is going to be bad."

<meanwhile at Everbrave Village>

Wink the elder of Everbrave sees Mayor Fink at the door and said, "ahh Welcome my dear brother." Fink said, "Will you stop with the formal acts? You keep doing that since we were little kids." Wink then said, "Just come in. We need to talk." Fink had a heavy feeling inside that it wasn't good. When he came in and sat down he asked, "What's this about? I got your message about the Noctrunus. Is there something else I should know?" Wink nodded as he sat down and said, "Yes there is something else you should know. Keep it to yourself okay? Listen Sonic is risking his neck to save both my village and yours. But if he dies so does Manic." Fink gasped for he too has heard of that dreadful thing before he said, "What should we do? Is there anything we can do to prevent it?" Wink shook his head and said, "All we can do is hope he stays alive. Besides you know very well this can't be prevented." Fink then said, "Oh right. I haft to admit Sonic seems so cold when he's not cunning and...you know." Wink said, "Well. He just remembered his sisters death. He couldn't stop blaming himself for the Noctrunus who murdered his sister and mind controlled his old friends and his old sweetheart." Fink said with a shocked face, "Oh Goodness. That's awful." Wink then said as he poured a spot of tea for the both of them, "It's been about a long time since he remembered it. He's also holding a grudge against all echidnas including 'her' I don't know maybe I'm just overthinking it." Fink then said with a concerned look as he took the tea cup, "No I don't think you are brother. I don't think you are."
