Chapter 24 - Why??

Knuckles work up in the hospital as he groaned in pain. Knuckles asked himself, "Where am I?" Sticks voice said, "We are in the hospital. A few hikers found us and called for a rescue team." Knuckles turned to see Sticks next to a sleeping Amy. He recalled what Sonic said at the mountains, "You and the Noctrunus will suffer from my hands." The echoes of what he said haunted him. He didn't actually think he would be blamed along with the Noctrunus for what the Noctrunus themselves did. Knuckles muttered, "Why...? Why do I haft to be blame for what they did?" Knuckles thought as tears rolled down his face, "I have nothing to do with the Noctrunus. So why does Sonic think I'm one of them? I mean it's no fair at all! Sonic doesn't even know that I'm not actually the bad guy. Not all echidna's are bad. Doesn't he know that?" He remembered the time Knuckles and him were such 'good friends' but now those days are numbered due to what happened. He couldn't help but feel like so shaken up. He couldn't even come close to getting himself to calm down. Knuckles knew the Noctrunus since he first the stories from his great-grandfather but unfortunately due to Sonics unchanged vengeance he had to be blamed. Though it wasn't quiet fair for him. Knuckles then said to himself, "This is not fair! Why do I haft to be blame for the damage the Noctrunus had done?! Why is it that Sonic thinks I'm one of them! Why?! Why?! WHY?!" He cried as the mayor came in and said, "We'll possibly he thinks you have been wanting to get rid of him and he assumes your a heartless Noctrunus spy." Knuckles was appalled as he said, "A SPY?! I AM NO SPY! NOT EVEN IF THEY PAID ME!!" Sticks looks at Amy and pats her back with a concern look and said, "I think we just entered a war Thats as tough as the robot apocalypse Knuckles. This won't be pretty." Knuckles is right about one thing it won't be easy especially gaining Sonics trust.
