Madi, Izzy, Malia, Magnus and Lydia stand in the main center as Alec joins them.
"Any word from the Clave?" Isabelle asked as Lydia shook her head, "Not yet and we've been trying for the past four hours. Something's up."
"Hmm, the Clave being unhelpful? Who's shocked? Show of hands?" Magnus asked, as Malia snorted. Madi glared at the warlocks, before Alec spoke up "I'm worried. I can't sense Jace through our parabatai bond." Magnus faced his boyfriend, "We'll find him, Alexander." He said, reassuringly.
"When we arrested Hodge, he said Valentine was on a ship. They must still be over water." Madeline explained before Lydia said to Isabelle, "Pull up the waterways around New York."
Izzy created New York as a hologram on the table. Meanwhile, Magnus and Malia used their magic on Jace's clothing, trying to track him. "The ship couldn't have gone too far." Izzy insisted.
Madi turned to Magnus, "Anything?" She asked. The older Bane shook his head, "Sorry." Alec, who was growing even more worried by the second, sighed frustratedly, "There's gotta be something!" Malia stated, "I don't see him."
Alec stepped away from the group, to make an announcement to all of the Shadowhunters. "All right, listen up! I want 24/7 monitoring of the Hudson and the East Rivers. If you see anything unusual, you come to me first." Lydia stepped forward and reached her arm out to Alec, "I've got this, Alec." She insisted.
"Then why haven't you found Jace yet?!" Alec suddenly snapped. "Don't forget who you're talking to. I am still the head of this Institute." Lydia frowned. "And my brother is still missing!"
"Why don't you just take a break?" Isabelle asked her older brother. "Not now, Izzy." Alec replied. Lydia spoke up, "Isabelle's right, and it's not a request. You're dismissed."
"Fine!"
Alec walked away, but Magnus reached out and grabbed him by his arm. "Hey..." He said, softly. Alec just pulled his arm away. "Everybody, just back off!" He growled.
Malia glared, taking a step forward to go and talk to Alec, but Madi held out her arm, holding her back. "You'll only add fuel to the fire." The Lightwood said. "That's the point." Malia stated.

Sometime later
Maryse stood, speaking to all the Shadowhunters. "We are at war." She announced, as Malia stood nearby, sticking out as she didn't have any runes on her body. Suddenly, Clary, Simon, Jocelyn and Simon race in, Clary taking her place beside Malia.
