"My Prince," my personal trainer greets.

"Good morning," I respond.

"Are you ready for this mornings warm up run?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

We both shift into our wolves before sprinting off into the woods next to the palace. My parents decided to move here not to long after I was born. I believe they moved here as it was safe and secure to raise a family. They didn't want any issues like they had with Desmond when they raised their family. Yet, everyone once in a while we visit the mansion. My grandparents live there now and maintain it while we are here.

'Where to today,' I ask through the mind link.

'Northern boarder. I got word there is a rogue camp being set up,' he tells.

I follow behind the palace commanding officer to the rogue camp that was a mile or so from our boarder, too close for comfort my father would say. Within a few feet of the territory line I could smell them. No, they do not smell bad as other's say, but they do have a particular scent to them. I would say it is a woodsy smell, but it definitely strikes your senses and makes you stop in your tracks.

At the boarder we stop to address the situation with the head of boarder security.

"Do we know why they have set up camp," the palace commanding officer asks.

"No clue why," the security officer tells. "We haven't tried to make communication with them yet."

He just nods, I could sense he is annoyed as we are walking into the unknown. At least establish a little bit of communication before we arrive. Like seriously. I mean we are about the enter a rogue camp, we could either be entering a fight or encountering completely harmless individuals.

Once we are cleared we head out to the coordinates they are to be at. It is a small camp, only a few werewolves setting up here. My trainer watched carefully and expecting me to do the same. Before heading in, we assess the situation so we do not misunderstand and start a problem that could've been prevented. Assess the situation. That is what all good Kings must do before making a crucial situation that could be life or death.

An older gentleman, probably my father's age looks our ways. His eyes trained on me, but he doesn't make any advances just laughs.

"Look who showed up," he laughs. "Where is your father? Too scared to leave his palace?"

He is just provoking you. He knows he can't win a fight against me, that is why he is teasing so it looks like I was the one out of line if a physical fight is to start. This rogue group wants to make the royals look bad.

"Enough," the palace officer barks. "We mean no harm, and that King sent him. He is your prince and you are to respect him. He came to show he acknowledges your message and wants to negotiate."

"Sure, he wants to negotiate. He just wants to throw us into jail and probably let his Queen slit our throats like she did to Alpha Desmond."

He stepped too far out of line. "He deserved it! He broke his oath and cheated in the fight he challenged my father to," I snarl.

"So the boy does speak, pity he is just his father's puppet. He's been in the palace for too long as he's been fed their lies, brainwashed boy."

"Enough," I snarl. "You know your Alpha was in the wrong and he had to punished for it. Laws are put in place for a reason."

"Is your beautiful little sister just as brainwashed as you? Goddess I hope not."

I take in deep breath to calm myself down so I do not rip his throat open for speaking of my sister in such a manner.

My eyes avert when a flap of a tent opens and a female steps out. She didn't have carry the rogue scent, but one that made my wolf go crazy. He let out a low purr and I when our eyes met the bond could be felt. Mates.

"Samantha, go back in the tent. There is nothing to see here," he growls.

"But father," she growls.

"Now, I can handle the prince. He isn't as big and scary as people make him out to be."

She rolls her hazel eyes and flips her light curls over her shoulder before reentering the tent.

"So she's your daughter," I jest. "Beautiful creature. It is a shame you took her from her pack life."

"She is fine with it."

"Oh, did you tell her that or did you make her think that? Growing up on the run in a tent is no life for a young werewolf and for what? Your Alpha was a piece of shit. I am sure she has no clue who or what Desmond did."

Painting the royal family as the bad guys. He is one who refused to stay with the pack when a new Alpha took over. He is one of those men and even made his children live this lifestyle he chose. This is no life for a child, especially her. How could one do that, it is selfish. She never got to experience that pack life.
