The Palace was an odd place for someone who has lived my kind of life. The floor was tile or wood not the canvas bottom or dirt or a tent. There was actually a stable structure around my body and not a tent that threatened to blow away in high winds. It was refreshing to have an actual bed and not a sleeping back in which was on the ground, it hurt to sleep on the ground. I could actually bath in a shower and not the local river or use the local woods to go to the bathroom. An actual roof above my head was a refreshing change for once, but it came with its downfalls.

One of these downfalls was that I basically submitted to the Alpha King, yet I was under his protection if a rogue was to come and kill me as I hold important information and I could possibly tell it. Yet, I submitted to the King, basically telling everyone who shared the same beliefs as I to go to hell. What I was doing was against everything I was raised on.

Theo unlocked my handcuffs. The hurt was visible in his eyes as he brushed my wrists unintentionally. My wolf was gone and so were the sparks and the mate bond that went with it.

His head hangs and his smile turns in a thin line. "Come on, I'll show you to your room," he says softly, yet there was pain in his tone.

There was only one way in and out and that was through that hallway lined with cells that held my fellow rogues. I was going to have to walk through that hall, fear consumed me. I know by them seeing me the word will get out soon to fellow rogues that I have betrayed my people, therefore I am to be exterminated.

I bite my bottom lip and stand from the chair. King Maxwell led us out and I was surrounded by the King and Theo in front and behind me. Beside me were two guards, shielding me from the angry rogues that may start to lash out and try to hurt me from inside their cells.

"Traitor."

"Scum."

"You are going to the deepest, darkest, and coldest level of the afterlife."

"You should rot."

"Gold digging bitch."

So many protests and vile things filled my ears as I was marched down the hall. I wish there was another exit for this exact reason. Yet, I feel like if they were truthful and honest like me, they could possibly walk down these halls one day, free.

Up the stairs and hearing the door clicking indicating it has been unlocked, I am in a corridor of the Werewolf Palace. I stare in awe of the giant and beautiful palace. Sunlight leaking in through every window giving it a natural and beautiful appearance. In a way this all reminded me of a fairy tale when the unexpected peasant girl becomes a princess and the halls shimmer and glitter. Yet, this was not a fairy tale and was in fact real life. The beauty and glamor of the royal life would soon fade and become a routine or a nightmare.

This was to be my new life, whether I liked it or not. Not only was I under the protection of the crown but they were things my father couldn't for me sometimes. Like a hot meal, running water, a stable roof over my head, and most importantly safety. My rogue pack was definitely mad about me betraying them, but they betrayed me first. Betraying me by taking away the life I could have led if given the proper tools like an education.

I was deep in my thoughts that I didn't realize Theo was talking to me, and that we were in front of a door in a wing of the palace I have no clue how I ended up in.

"Samantha, this will be your bedroom while we reside in the palace. Rose's is across from yours and mine is on the right of hers. This is the royal wing, where all the royals have their bedrooms," he babbles on.

My brows frown when I look at him in confusion.

"Oh, we are in the west wing."

"I am not confused about that. Why give me a bedroom so close to all of yours? Aren't you afraid I will do something?"

Theo laughs and shakes his head. "We have guards stationed at every door, but if you do something like that you will end up back in the prison. So I would advise you to take that into consideration before you do anything. Is attempting to murder the prince worth being murdered down there?"

His voice doesn't waiver as he delivers his threat that I am sure he will follow through with it and without hesitation.

I shake my head. "I understand and I won't do that."

Truly I don't want that fate. If they get their hands on me my body will undefiable with the misery they'll put me through.

"Good, this was my idea. My father wanted to keep you in a completely different cell block for your safety and the safety of my family and yet I trust you. I trust you after everything you've done, I trust that you will behave."

The double white wooden doors open and reveal a bedroom fit for a princess. Large floor to ceiling windows with gold molding separating the panels. The floor is hardwood and looks freshly polished. A large royal blue and gold carpet covers most of the floor and my bed sits against the opposite wall. It sits high off the floor with a four post frame and matching bedding to the carpet. My eyes scan the room, noticing a desk and large bookshelf on another wall. A dresser and vanity on another and a large fireplace as well. The room had gold accents everywhere and storm blue paint on the walls.

"I'll leave you to get settled," Theo excuse himself
