|Prince Theo|

When we pull around the drive leading up to the Palace's grand front stair case we are greeted by staff and flashing cameras. New outlets and media caught wind we are returning home it seems like. I know my father did not inform them as such since he is on edge lately.

When I exit the car I quickly offer Samantha my arm and assist her out. She shields her eyes from the flashes and dodges the very intrusive questions.

"Are you pregnant," one shouts.

"When is the ceremonies," another asks.

"When is the coronation?"

Tons of similar questions are thrown our way, but we ignore and make it into the Palace safely. My mom and sister wait inside the door and greet us.

"Theodore," my mom greets and envelopes me tightly in her arms.

"It is good to see you, mom. May I ask what is going on," I ask quietly so my father does not hear.

She looks down at me and I could tell by her eyes she was stressed. That a lot has happened since we made our escape that night.

"Why don't I get Samantha settled in? Your father is looking for you. You are needed in meetings today."

Samantha nods at me and follows after my mom. Sighing, I head to meeting room on the other side of the Palace. What the hell could possibly be so important and so secretive that he needed me. He can handle this on his own, he always has.

My father has always been a perfect and reserved man. Always polished and put together. He rarely let his emotions show and if so it would be behind closed doors. The public did not know the kind of person he truly was. They only knew the Alpha King and they were two completely different kind of people. Yet, it was important as he use to tell me to separate the two lives. To wear a mask when needed, to protect yourself.

Inside the council room sits his council. The Moon princess and her mate, the Death Alpha looking less than enthused to be there. Yet, everyone else had wide grins on their face. I take my seat beside my father with caution.

"What is this about," I ask.

"We have a few matters to touch on today," Alpha Vincent voices.

"Which are," I bark.

"Rogues, your mate, accession to the throne, ceremonies, and what not."

"This is why you are bothering me?"

"Well, we can't make you choose a new mate now since her wolf has returned and she has accepted you," Alpha Julian chimes in.

A low growl echos from the other side of the room and I look for the source. The Moon Princess is standing up with her palms flat in front of her, her eyes glowing silver. Meanwhile her mate is sitting back with a smirk on his face.

"You are one to talk," she barks.

"What? I am just making an observation."

"Says the male who had a fake Luna and put his real mate in danger."

I can't help but hide my smile too, I love when she came to these meetings. She kept things real and her mate did not care.

"We are not here to point fingers," my father breaks up the fight. "That is settled, they are mates and have accepted the bond. We must address the decision the council made during the last meeting. Making Samantha's wolf forcefully out. We used a rogue for such and now they are at our doors."

"I strongly-" the Luna Adrianna starts.

"I know, strongly objected and voiced concern," my father cuts her off.

I had a feeling something would come as using that rogue as bait. I knew it wasn't going to be good since we have already captured, tortured, and killed some since we imprisoned them. Now we used one for our own entertainment  and gain. Not mention it was a former rogue who killed one of her former members, which just made the situation so much worse.

"So this is why I was called home early? Because you as a council made a stupid decision and now have to face the consequences for your actions? Why am I involved, I was a victim of your dumb decision," I ask.

"Victim," one of the older Alphas laughs. "Victim! You benefited from it."

I wish my father would find new Alpha's to sit on his council, these older ones are so stuck in their old ways. They genuinely piss me off. They refuse to move forward, much rather go back in time.

"My mate and I are traumatized from it. You masqueraded the event as a banquet to trap us and force her shift. You all are disgusting for thinking other wise," I snap.

My father sighs and clears his throat. "That is enough," he booms. "We now need to find a solution to this problem we now have."

Truly I did not care if they came to a solution. I was now stuck here because the rogues were at our boarders threatening to attack. My life was in danger because of their dumb decision and horrible planning. What did they think was going to happen? Seriously, did they think having a former rogue killing on of her former members not cause an uproar?

Idiots, all of them. After this he needs to reconsider his choices of people who advise him, because it isn't working out in his favor.

"Again, why does this involve me?"

"We are to start planning your ceremonies in hopes it distracts from the threats and hopefully brings peace between the two groups. A prince and a rogue living happily ever after. It is a fairytale."

I give my father a blank look and sigh. "So let me get this straight. You force my mate to shift for political gain and now you are forcing us to rush our ceremonies for political gain? Is that correct?"

Blank stares from everyone but Luna Adrianna and Alpha Octavius who were smiling.

"Now if you don't mind I will be excusing myself. Once you figure out a different plan to approach this situation please do not inform me or involve me."

With that I exit the council chamber and go to find my mate who I know is being dragged around by my mother and sister. This is why she was so stressed, our safety was at risk and therefore we were brought home. I do not mind being home, but for the reason I am here is infuriating. Our safety was at risk for their selfish decisions. Now our lives have to revolve around this decision in hopes of fixing it and making amends.
