The following morning wasn't an easy one, in fact it is much more worse than yesterday. No, today I wasn't training, but today I was assisting my father in interrogating the rogues. Which means I'll be face to face with my mate who rejected me yesterday. Mentally I was not ready for this since I was still trying to process yesterday.

Pulling on my jacket I stepped out of my room and bumping into Rosabella's back who was also stepping out of her room.

"Oh, brother! I did not see you there, I apologize," Rose says sweetly with a head bow.

I make her look up at me. "Do not apologize for that, since it was my fault. Now, little sister how was your rest," I ask.

She smiles. "It was fine, and how was yours?"

"I wish I could say it was good, but I was up all night my mind was running wild keeping me up."

She gives me a straight smile showing her pity for what I was going through. "I am truly sorry about what happened with your mate. Maybe she'll come around today seeing that current situation she is in?"

"One can only hope."

She shakes her head. "Changing subjects since I don't want to continue damped the mood, how is the search for my guard going?"

"I have a few males in mind, I just need to narrow it down and continue to watch them to make sure they are right for the roll."

She rolls her eyes and elbows my upper arm. "Please tell me it isn't some of your weird friends."

"Griffin is on the list and he is my friend, but he has proven himself of the position as he is strong and loyal. He'll gladly put himself in the line of fire for you."

Truth be told Griffin has always had a thing for Rosabella, his whole demeanor changes when she enters his presences, I can tell as I'm always with him. Although she has yet to shift, he is almost positive for the connection he feels for her. He says they are mates but cannot be sure since she hasn't been able to shift or even contact her wolf. So, until then it is just an instinct and can't be proven until she shifts. If she had connection with her wolf this would be different but there is only half a bond there since only his wolf is active. Which is a shame for the both of them.

This is why I am choosing him to be her guard in hopes it brings out her wolf and finishes forming the bond. This could possibly wake her wolf since she'll be able to sense her mate and surface to meet them. This way she'll be protected and have her wolf no longer in question and have her mate. I see this as a win win for the both of them, but they do not know my plan yet and I will not reveal it unless I am certain I am right about them being mates.

I am doing this Rose and Griffin since I am tired of the council being mean and talking down to the Princess since her wolf is late to appear. Also, we don't want her stripped of her tilted and be seen as a defect. It is not her fault as she has tried to shift and we've visited countless physicians to see what is going on. None have answers only that she is a late shifter, but her wolf is in there and is dormant for some unknown reason.

"Third year right," she asks.

I nod. "Yes, he is in his third year. He is a few years older than you, but that should be better for you since he has more experience than a warrior in your age bracket."

She nods. "I see."

I can't help but feel bad for my sister since my parents kept her under lock and key her whole childhood. Since they afraid of what may happen if the people found out about her. They weren't afraid for her safety until she was a few years old when someone tried to kidnap her. Their fear has only grown over the years as she has grown into a beautiful young lady. This only scares my Dad more making his authority tougher on her. Her last guard retired this is why I am finding her a new one. Since Father doesn't want her unguarded for a long period of time. For her safety of course because she is weak and unguarded. Enemies could see this as the perfect time to strike.

Like for Goddess sake, she can't even leave to go walk through the garden without her guard right beside her, but it is for her own safety. Although she does not remember the event she understands it is for her own wellbeing and safety.

In which her being a late shifter isn't helping since if there is a breach she cannot defend herself against the intruder. This is why she has guards everywhere around her bedroom and one to escort her place to place for the time being.

"Well, I believe we are going to be late for breakfast and father won't be happy with that as today is a busy one for you."

I nod. "Yes and a long one at that."
