Clary
I knew Jace would be mad, I had understood that the second I had made the decision, but he was my world.
When I had nothing he was the there, he always picked up the pieces, and protected me. It was my turn to protect him this time. I wished so badly to tell him that, but my mouth never wanted to cooperate with me.
I now found myself in a house. A small room on the higher level, overlooking a cliff going down to the ocean. There was a window, but it had bars on it. There was a small bed in the corner with red and white dotted sheets, and a pillow.
There was a thick wooden door that was locked, and the same thick wood made for the walls, floor, and ceiling.
I stared out at the ocean below the cliff. I missed Jace, and I longed for his lips on mine, but I had made a decision to protect him, and I was going to make sure he lived, even if it meant sacrificing myself in his place.
I closed my eyes as I heard the locks behind me. My whole body went tense, and I waited. I heard the door open with a creak, and saw the reflection of Azle and Valentine in the window.
My eyes shut tightly and I hugged myself to keep the tears from falling.
"Come Clary, we are going to make you strong."
I turned around, and they led me out of the room.
Valentine was muttering something about mind control to Azle when we walked into a large room. He tossed me a dagger which I caught easily.
"Begin" he said and Azle charged me.Jace
Her hand feeling left in my hand, her lip print on mine.
I rushed down the stairs after her. "Clary stop! I can protect you!" They vanished, and I fell back with the force of the magic.
"Clary!" I screamed. I had held her, kissed her, she was safe, and now she was just gone.
Alec ran over to me and helped me up. Iz ran over to both of us and pulled us both towards the institute.
"Hurry up, we have to ask Magnus to help find her!"
We ran up the stairs to find Magnus, but he wasn't around. Alec had gone to get him and I found myself slashing at the fighting dummy as hard as I possibly could.
"Ah!" I screamed envisioning Azle's face, and hacked harder and harder, over and over again. And then the memory he had shown me fell into my thoughts and I fell onto my knees defeated.
"Dammit!!! Clary!" My voice cracked in anguish.
My dagger lay next to me, as I kneeled silent. Because of what he had done, my Clary no longer wished to speak.
I longed to have her in my arms, to have kissed her lips just once more. I had lost her once, and I don't know if I can get through it again.Valentine
My plan had been coming together. Clary and Azle were making progress. I watched them through the window. Once again Clary fell to the floor, Azle kicked her many times before she finally jumped back up to her feet.
The fighting went on for several hours until Azle had knocked her unconscious, and my ruins had no effect on waking her up, but simply dissolved. We carried her back to the room and lay her on the bed. I had chosen this house because it was secluded, private.
It kept those who did stumble upon it calm, and moving forward, but very few had found this place, and none had lived to tell that tale of what they'd found.
Clary had come a long way, and Azle had become very fond of her. He asked for one thing in terms of his service to me and that was to have Clary until I killed her.
I had granted him this wish of course. When Clary had been trained we were going to use her as our weapon. We would mind-control her to kill all but Jace, then Jace would have no choice but to kill her. And as she died we would take off the mind-control necklace, we had been crafting, and let her die.
Jace would have to live with the guilt, it was the revenge on him, but Clary needed to die.
Azle returned from Clary's room, looking very satisfied.
"She still won't speak?" I asked
He nodded.
"She will soon enough."
As for the rest of the plan, it shall play out with the war. Father the soldiers, and prepare them for a battle they will win without a doubt.
