Clary
I opened my eyes slowly glancing around. Where was I? I tried to reach for my head but there were handcuffs on each hand.
"What the hell?" I said, barely recognizing my own voice. It was hoarse, and quiet, echoing. I was in a room, there was two cuffs in the floor to hold the handcuffs other end, but the room was empty besides that. I glanced around, before yanking on the chains. I groaned. It wasn't going to budge.
I had already know that, but it was worth a try. The memories slowly came back. Jace.
I heard a creak near the door, and leaned back pretending to be asleep. That's when I heard his voice.
Valentine. He was speaking on the phone with someone, but my side was more on sided.
"That's no way to speak to her father, now is it?"
I resisted to scream at him but I assumed he would hang up.
"Now, I'm going to keep her here, and you better meet my demands"
I felt someone stroking my cheek, and immediately head butted him.
He stumbled back, and growled
"Bitch" he said smacking me across the face. My face felt warm, and stung.
I heard through the phone Jace yell out my name.
"Sorry Jace, she can't come to the phone right now. We will talk soon." He hung up.
I glared at Valentine.
"Tsk tsk"
"Go to hell" I spat.
"Been there, done that" he retorted.
"That doesn't matter now. We are going to have some fun, before we request of your boyfriend"
"What could you possibly want?" I hissed.
"A great many things, but the first is to break you. After all you've done against me, I'm going to shatter the very parts of you that make you, well yourself."
"I'm not easily broken, and I won't let you hurt Jace, ever."
He laughed "the last thing in your mind should be Jace sweetheart. See you tomorrow." He grinned and walked out of the room.
I yanked against the chains once more but only hurt myself. I sat back and groaned. I knew that he hated me, I hated him too, but I couldn't let him break me, or get anywhere near Jace.
My heart ached at the thought of him. I closed my eyes picturing his face which came with such clarity it was such a comfort.
That's when the screaming began.
It was medium pitch and rang out, without cease. I threw my hands over my ears, and felt it vibrate the room, from a large grey speaker in the corner.
I fell to the hard ground, clutching my head, and closing my eyes. The screech pierced deep into my eardrums, and I fell flat on the ground hitting my head. I screamed as it only got louder. It seemed as though my hands over my ears did nothing to even muffle the sound.
"It's not real... It's not real... It's not real."
