Saving Her

Chapter 20:

Isabelle
I knew Clary wasn't herself, but a part of her was still there. Considering she hadn't killed us, instead just shoved me through a portal.
I tried to organize my thoughts as quickly as I could but they didn't want to be organized all that easily. Then there were arms around me and I landed on top of Simon on my bed.
"Simon! What are you doing here?!"
"I was worried about you, so I dove after you."
I grinned and kissed him reaching behind his head.
"You're so sweet." He shrugged, "That's me for you."
I crawled off of him.
"Thanks, by the way. We should get to the infirmary for when they bring Clary in, I noticed her broken wrist."
He nodded, and we got to work prepping for their arrival.

Magnus
I dived after Alec. The second I saw the portal drawn I had snapped into action.
I immediately thought of my mansion as I embraced him. We fell onto the floor of my mansion him on top of me. I groaned as he landed on top of me.
He grew red quickly, and crawled off of me.
"Sorry."
I shrugged, and sat up.
"Look, I know you're mad, but right now I miss you Alec. I really truly miss you."
He looked at me, staying completely silent.
"Say something."
Then he leaned forward and kissed me. I kissed back pulling him closer. I set my hands on his waist, and slid them under his shirt onto his back.
He moaned, and threaded his fingers through the back of my hair pulling my closer. He deepened the kiss.
He pulled back,
"We have to go."
"Right" I said drawing the portal.

When we went through Jace was on the ground holding Clary against him.
Her eyes were closed, and there was a knife through her.
"Alec go get her, I'll draw the portal." I said and began to draw the portal to the institute.
Alec helped lift Clary, and Jace carried her through the portal. I took Alec's hand in mine and we jumped through together.

Isabelle and Simon were prepped for our arrival. They laid her down and began getting to work on healing the wound.
Jace was a wreck, he had just stabbed his girlfriend for goodness sake, and no one knew if she would survive.
Or die.

Clary
I barely recognized my voice. I had missed him. I understood that it had all been a trick and a lie from Valentine.
A trick to make me feel unloved. A trick to break me so he could fix me up and use me for his own evil desires.
It had worked, but I knew now that I was free. I felt the darkness come, and I let go of the light that I had clung to for a very long time.

Jace
My eyes were stained with tears. I held her hand tightly, and hugged her so close to me.
"I love you Clary." I said and kissed the top of her head.
Then Magnus and Alec arrived.

Clary
When I opened my eyes Jace was by my side. His fingers threaded through mine. He lay fast asleep next to me.
I had runes drawn everywhere, and there was one on my wrist. I sighed in relief.
I sat up, and Jace's eyes opened suddenly. I looked into them and knew that this was where I belonged.
"Clary?" He asked his voice desperate.
I slipped out of the bed and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I'm here"
His hand rested on my cheek.
"I missed your voice."
I grinned from ear to ear.
"I missed you." Then I kissed him. Not hard, or desperate. Gentle, and filled with love.
He pulled me against him, closer. I felt his need and his want. Mostly because I felt the same way. I wanted him, and I needed him now and forever.
"I thought you left me" he said pulling back.
"Never."
He smirked at that, and pulled me into his warm embrace. Isabelle walked in at that moment arguing with Simon.
They stopped the second they saw me. Jace let go. Iz ran to me and nearly tackled me with her embrace
"You scared the hell out of me!" She exclaimed. Simon was next. He pulled me into his embrace and I smiled.
"Missed you too Si"
He stepped back, and then I was grabbed from behind my waist. I laughed, and struggled to get free. Jace spun me around, and kissed me softly on the lips.
"Good to have you back Clare."
I grinned
"It's good to be back"
He grabbed my hand and walked with me. He squeezed my hand and walked to the green house. Then he pinned me against the sides.
"Jace!" I laughed. He rested his hand on the side of my face, and brushed a strand of hair from my cheek. I closed my eyes gently.
I wrapped my arms around his waist, and grabbed his shirt in my fists.
He put his hands on my waist, and came closer to me. He leaned in and gently kissed my collar bone, causing a moan to escape my lips in pleasure. He kissed up to my shoulder, and my neck. I threaded my fingers through his hair.
He kissed my jaw, my cheek, and finally my lips. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around him. He set me on one of the tables in the greenhouse, and I slipped my hands under his shirt.
Then he pulled away.
"Wait Clary we need to talk about Azle."
I shrugged
"What about him?"
He looked me straight into my eyes as if he were staring into my soul.
"Are you okay?" He asked calmly.
I sighed
"I honestly have no idea. It feels like I am but then something sends me whirling back there. However, I do believe that I will be okay."
He smiled lightly thinking.
"Enough of this thinking business" I said taking his hand and dragging him off to my bedroom.

Jace
I woke up tangled up with her. I smiled slightly, and pulled her closer to me. She moved only slightly before going to her still peacefulness.
I knew that there would be a war coming, Valentine had ensured that. Jumping through the same hoops as before.
But as I lay with Clary in my arms and the memory thriving in my heart, I didn't care all that much. I knew I would protect her with my life.
She opened her eyes, and shivered. I pulled her into the warmth of my body, and smiled.
She smiled back, and rested her finger to my lips. Then she leaned in, and kissed me. I kissed back running my hand up her back, and through her hair.
She pulled back and lay her head on my bare chest.
"Don't let me go."
"Never."
