Chapter 5 - I'm Coming With You

Ahsoka smiled at Barriss through the hologram map of the galaxy between them. Barriss gave a small smile back but was obviously worried about anyone else noticing it.

The two girls were in the command center of a Republic cruiser, standing around a galaxy map. The map was surrounded by them, Anakin, Luminara, Obi-Wan, Rex, and a few other clone troopers.

"The Separatist blockade is being formed here," Rex said, gesturing at an area near the center of the map. "Our goal is to stop the blockade before it is fully formed, rather than waiting and trying to destroy it once it is completed and at its most power-" A loud beeping sound cut Rex off. Rex turned to one of the clone troopers, who was holding a comlink in his hand which seemed to be the source of the beeping.

"Trooper? What is that?" Rex asked sternly. Anakin and Obi-Wan glanced at each other.

"Sorry, sir," the clone said. "I'll-I'll pick it up." He turned to walk away, but Rex ordered him to pick it up in front of everyone.

"You know what? I'll just - I'll see who it is later. I don't want to interrupt your incredible plan," he said, almost smugly.

At the end of the meeting, as all the other clones left the room in single file, the clone with the comlink hurriedly slipped out ahead of them. Ahsoka leaned over to Anakin and said, "Master? Who was that?" Anakin shrugged.

"I don't know him that well. I think he was recently promoted." Obi-Wan walked over to where Ahsoka and Anakin were standing and cut in,

"I think he goes by Adonis."

"Adonis?" Obi-Wan shrugged.

"I sensed something... odd in him," Luminara said. Ahsoka jumped; she hadn't noticed Luminara walk over.

"I bet it's fine," Anakin said. Ahsoka and Barris glanced at each other.

"Master Skywalker, are you sure?" Barriss said.

"Padawan Offee, do not talk back to a Jedi Knight like that!"

"Sorry, Master," Barriss muttered quietly, looking down. Ahsoka surreptitiously touched her hand to Barriss's in reassurance, who smiled.

As the Jedi left the room, Ahsoka gestured to Barriss to stay back.

"I didn't like the look of that clone," she said. Barriss glanced behind them nervously.

"I didn't either... but Master Skywalker said it was fine, and-and I think Masters Unduli and Kenobi agreed."

"Well, there was definitely something fishy going on there. We shouldn't just sit back and watch!"

"There's nothing we can do, Ahsoka. Come on. Let's go." Barriss walked out of the command room, but Ahsoka stayed back ponderingly.

"Barriss!" Ahsoka cried, running up to her friend. Barriss whirled around.

"Oh, Ahsoka. What is it?"

"Last night, I had a vision." Barriss stopped walking and looked at Ahsoka attentively. "In the vision, there was a Sith Lord. And-and- I was battling him... and then, he pulled back his hood - and it was Adonis. That clone."

"Oh, Ahsoka... none of the clones are Sith!" Ahsoka blushed.

"Yeah, I know, but I think the vision must have been telling me something... like maybe Adonis is working for the Sith. For the Separatists." Barriss looked at Ahsoka in concern.

"Ahsoka..."

"Barriss, I'm - I'm going to try and find out what he's up to." Ahsoka turned and walked away without looking back. A moment later, she turned to find a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm coming with you." Ahsoka grinned.

Barriss and Ahsoka stealthily slid along the walls of the corridor as they followed Adonis. He seemed to be heading towards the cruiser's hangar. This suspicion was proven to be correct as he entered the hanger and started heading towards a small starfighter. Ahsoka and Barriss leaped behind a stack of crates when Adonis looked around to make sure he wasn't being followed.

"What are we supposed to do?" Barriss whispered frantically. "We can't follow him!"

"We sure can." Ahsoka grabbed Barriss's hand in hers without thinking of the consequences this could pose and dragged her friend over to a small two-seater ship. R2-D2 was already in it.

"Wha-how did you-" Ahsoka patted the droid on the head.

"Magic. Get the ship started, Artooey." Barriss rolled her eyes good-naturedly and laughed.

Ahsoka and Barriss slipped into the ship just as Adonis was lifting up off the ground. The two Padawans and R2-D2 soared after him, unaware of the danger they were heading into.
