Candice knew that her friend was back, but she wasn't going to speak to her as she knows there will be that cold shoulder. She saw Elena speaking to her, but Candice wouldn't. "Candice.' She turned around and looked at her sister. "Guess what is coming up?'

"I don't know."

"Miss Mystic Falls." Caroline said. "We need to find us some dresses."

Candice groaned as she knew something was coming up, but didn't know what that was. "Could have told me this morning, because now I need to find a date..."

"Actually, I was planning on dropping out this year." Elena said. "If Stefan is up to it, he can escort you."

Candice nodded, but was a little unsure about this idea. "Okay, I'm going to go get my dress if you want to help?" She asked Elena.

"Sure."

Candice was at the rehearsal. "I don't understand why she dropped out, but are you sure about escorting me?" Candice asked him.

"Yeah." He said. "You are my best friend and I'm fine with dancing with you."

Candice nodded as the music started playing. Everyone started doing the dance. Candice smiled as she thought the dance was doing good. That was till Stefan dipped her making her laugh. "Okay, wrong move, but I'm glad that I got to laugh."

"That's it for the day." Carol tells them.

Candice saw Bonnie with Elena. She sighed and walked over to her. "I'm sorry for what happened to Shelia, but I'm not sorry for getting into that tomb because Damon saw Katherine for the person she is." Candice says. "You can hate me or whatever, but it just shows that you are holding your anger against us when you also begged her to continue the spell. So blame yourself too."

Elena watched Candice leave.

The next day, Elena was helping Candice get ready. "Nervous."

"Yeah." Candice said. "Something about the way Stefan acted yesterday has me thinking that he is hiding something from all of us."

Damon walked in and looked at the two girls. "Stefan is still drinking human blood."

"What?" Elena said as she walked out to look for Stefan.

"Now she will blame herself." She said as she looked at Damon.

"What?"

Candice shook her head as she heard that they were starting. Damon walked out as Candice grabbed her dress and changed into it. She walked out and stood beside her sister. "You know I was shocked that Elena dropped out." Caroline said.

"Of course you were." Candice said. "I'm just in it for fun."

"True."

Candice didn't see Stefan and that was a little nerve wrecking. Caroline was first to go down and then it was her. Damon didn't see his brother and walked to the bottom of the stairs to take Stefan's place just to be shocked by Candice's beauty. Candice smiled as she reached the bottom stairs and linked her arms with his. "Where's Stefan and Elena?"

"I don't know.' He whispered as they reached the others.

Standing in front of one another, the music started playing signaling for them to start with the dance. Candice walked around with her hand barely touching Damon's before they started dancing.

Elena saw the two and knew that she would need their help as Stefan killed one of the guest and may have Amber, but seeing the looks the two shared confirmed to Elena that Candice and Damon care for one another deeply. Candice and Damon just kept their eyes on one another till the music ended.

Candice stood beside her sister holding her hand as they waited for the announcement. "And to announce the winner of Miss Mystic Falls is... Caroline Forbes."

"I won.'

"Congrats."

After Elena filled Damon and Candice in for what Stefan done, they were looking for him. Candice was the one to find him with Elena. "Stefan." Elena said making him look at the two before leaving.

"Go. I'll stay here."

Elena nodded as she ran off. Candice turned and looked at Damon and Bonnie. "Welp. We need to plan something." Candice said.

After the confrontation with her mother, Candice had told Elena the plan she came up with. She waited for the signal and when she heard a thump, Candice went in Stefan's room and smiled. "Welp." She said. "That worked.'

"I'm going home." Elena said as she walked away with guilt.

Candice groaned as Damon walked in. "Yay. You get to help me."

The two dragged Stefan to the cells in the basement. Candice looked at Stefan and sighed as she wished she knew what else to do for her friend.
