Thirteen

Candice stayed the night at the Salvatore house as did Elena. Damon had got done waking Elena and Stefan, but when he walked into the guest bedroom, he saw Candice sleeping soundly. He didn't want to wake her up, but she promised to help him with finding the grimoire. "Blondie, it's time to wake up."

Candice raised up and looked at him. "What's with the blondie?"

"Would you want me to call you Barbie?"

Candice glared at him. "Call me Barbie and I will shove a stake up your ass." 

"Noted." Damon said as he walked away.

"Ass."

Candice arrived at the Gilbert's to only see Jeremy and Jenna with Damon cooking. "Should I be worried?" She asked.

"Candice, Elena's not here yet, but if you want, you can set the table."

Candice nodded as she gathered the plates. She walked to the table and started tote it.Damon appeared in front of her. "Should I trust Elena and Stefan?"

"Do you have a reason to not too?"

"I don't them."

Candice sighed. "Damon, I don't see their reasons to turn against you. They both want you gone." She tells him. "Me. I don't know."

"Yet, your still searching."

"Of course I'll help, but that doesn't mean that I want you gone or the fact something is telling me that Katherine won't be there." Candice said. "It's your choice if you want to go in there, but there is always consequence."

Damon got in her face making Candice look at him not seeing Elena watching them close. "I'll take the chances."

"Then you trust your brother and his girlfriend than." She said as she continued with the dishes. Elena walked away not knowing what to say besides the tension that was between the two.

Later that night, Candice stood watching Stefan dig the grave thinking of how Damon will feel about his. "You lied." She heard and looked up to see Damon. "I should have known that you two would lie." He tells Elena and Stefan than looked at Candice. "I expected more from you."

Candice looked down hating that she had lied. One minute she was looking at her feet the next she was in Damon's arms. "Hand over the grimoire or we'll have us a blondie vampire." He said as he bit his wrist forcing Candice to drink it.

Candice struggled against him till she was release. Candice ran into Elena's arms scared of what just happened. She hasn't thought of the idea of becoming a vampire just yet.

Elena looked at Stefan as she saw Caroline calling her. "Hello."

"Elena, have you seen Candice?"

"No. I thought she was on her way home."

"Well she's not and I'm worried."

Stefan nodded as he left to tell Damon of Candice's disappearance. "I'll have her call you when we find her."

"Thank you."
