Twenty two

Candice was sleeping soundly when she heard her sister. "Candice, you need to get up and get dressed." She said. "We have a float to get too."

Candice groaned as she didn't want to wear one of those dresses. She got out of bed and walked straight to her closet as she grabbed her dress and some clothes to wear. Her phone started to ring caused her to walk over and answer it. "Hello?"

"Hey, are you coming? Jenna has everything ready for you."

"Okay." She said as she left to meet them there. "I'm leaving right now, woke up too late."

Candice groaned once again, but this time, it was the corset. "How did people wear these things years ago?" Candice said. "I'm dying from the tightness of this thing."

"Suck it up, baby."

"Seriously?" She said making Elena laugh.

"I'm going to go see if Stefan is ready."

"Okay."

Candice smiled as they were almost done. She wondered what people would think of her in this dress. Once she was done, Candice went to find Stefan so they could get on the float.

"Are you two sure?" Elena asked shocked.

"Yeah. John is your father."

Candice walked over to them smiling. "What's up?"

Damon and Stefan looked at her shocked. Candice looked like she actually lived during 1864. Damon just stared at the blonde shocked that this was her. "Wow." Stefan said. "You actually look like you were born in 1864."

"Thanks, but can we get this over with. I hate this dress." She said.

Elena laughed as she went to find Bonnie. Stefan shook his head at the blonde as the two walked to the float. As they started the parade, Damon watched the blonde as she waved at the everyone else. When he saw her looking at Elena and Bonnie, he smirked as he stood in front of the two and waved at Candice.

Once the blonde changed, Candice was walking around when she noticed people dropping in pain. "Candice!" She heard Elena and ran over to help Stefan.

"What's going on...we were lied too." Candice said.

"Yes."

Candice noticed someone missing. "Where's Damon?"

They ran to the Gilbert building after learning where they vampires were going. They stop as they saw John. Candice ignored him and ran past him. "Bonnie, you better do something right now or I swear..."

"I got it." Bonnie said as she started to chant.

Candice watched Stefan go in as Elena got beside her. When Stefan came out, Candice was in Damon's arm in no time as she thought he was dead.

Candice arrived at her house to see Damon. "Hey." She said. "Why are you here?"

"To talk." He said as she walked over to him. "Thanks for saving me."

"Damon, I care about you." She said. "You need to let people in, but I will not tell you what to do."

Damon nodded as he looked at her. Candice looked at him before he leaned in to kiss her. Candice smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck as they kiss till her phone interrupted. "Hello?" She answered. "Matt, calm down and tell me what is wrong?" Her heart stopped as she looked at Damon.

Her sister was in the hospital fighting for her life.
