The Returning War (A Songs of War fanfic)

Part 1: Chapter 14

A scream of pure terror reached Will's ears causing her to start running in the direction of the scream, Underwood Forest. Will ran until she reached a small clearing; a brightly glowing Ender Dragon Egg lay in the centre, and Sparks sat half conscious panting heavily

"Sparks, are you ok?" Asked Will as she ran to her friends side

Sparks noddd numbly

"What happened, did you scream?"

Another nod

"Sparks!"

Will shook Sparks who just flopped around limply. Will uttered something inaudible, hoisted Sparks over her shoulder, and carried her back to the tavern they were staying in

Skorch and Decon met Will as she entered there room; Decon was sitting on a couch lazily, and Skorch was holding Sparks' egg and was singing to it in Ebberish. Will laid Sparks on a bed

"What happened to Sparky?" Asked Decon

"No idea" answered Will "do you have a pan?"

Decon shrugged and left the room, returning not even a minute later with a large metal pan. Will grabbed the pan and began hitting it against Virdencen's sword. Skorch jumped in surprise and began chittering angrily. Sparks sat up rigidly

"Will! What are you doing?!" Shouted Sparks

"Waking you up! What happened?!" Replied Will

"I...I...don't know...it was a nightmare...Virdencen and Vulcannus...they failed..."

Skorch looked and laid down Sparks' egg, before teleporting away

"Great, now Skorchy's gone" grumbled Decon

"Skorchy?" Inquired Will

"What? I like him"

"How do you know it's not a girl?"

"'cuz his name is Skorch, and that's a boy name"

"Says who?"

"Me"

Will rolled her eyes, then down beside Sparks "did anything else happen?"

"Not really" muttered Sparks

"Are you ok?"

"Yes, or at least I will be in a few minutes"

"Are you sure?" Asked Decon "you eye is purple"

Sparks laid her hand over her eye "why?"

"Beats me"

"Does it look bad?"

"If you mind one eye dark purple and the other bright red"

"How do we fix it?"

"Don't ask me; I may have many answers, but I don't know everything; I mean I am still human...or at least Ardonia. Maybe Virdencen knows"

"I am not going the that stuck up white skinned freak for anything!"

"But she might know..."

"And she'll also tell me a was a selfish brat for not helping her!"

Decon looked at her incredulously "But...but you eye"

"I don't care if my eye is missing! I'm not going to ever ask her to help me!"

Skorch teleported back and grabbed Sparks arm and tried to teleport away with her

"Hey! Watch it!" Cried Sparks

Skorch chirped and pulled her arm urgently. Ender magic swirled around them as they teleported from their tavern into Underwood

"What is the meaning of this!" Shrieked Sparks

Skorch chirped and shook his head, wildly pointing towards a massive tree

"You brought me to look at a tree!"

Skorch pulled Sparks to the tree. Dangling in one of the top branches was The Nether Blade

"You want me to retrieve the sword?!"

Skorch nodded and pushed Sparks towards the tree

Sparks sighed and began climbing the tree. Once she reached the sword she grabbed it and threw it down to Skorch, who caught in. Sparks descended the tree, and Skorch grabbed her arm and teleported back to their tavern
