Part 1: Chapter 15

Winds blew and snow fell, as Virdencen leaned weakly against the cave wall. She looked at the slowly dying fire with exhaustion

"Centurn, it is ok" whispered Vulcannus "let the fire go out, we will be fine"

"You are not used to the cold, it would be better to keep you warm" responded Virdencen

"You are tired; rest, we will not get home if you cannot teleport"

"But you could die"

"So could you"

Virdencen nodded "should I try again?"

"No! The last attempt nearly killed you"

"But you could freeze to death"

"It would be better for me to die, rather then the last First Inhabitant"

"My race was doomed from the beginning"

"No, you are still here"

"And yet my end goal is to die for the sake of humanity"

"You still must preserve yourself as long as possible"

Virdencen sighed "I wish it were that easy Vulcannus; even now I feel my life slowly ebbing away, to preserve it would make my misery worse. I lost the only reason to live years ago"

"Then why are you still here?"

"My brother is a constant threat; as the reason for his villainy, it is my duty to stop his tyranny. And that must proceed any of my desires"

"And after he dies?"

"I shall die and be reunited with my..."

Whispers filled the tavern as: Decon, Skorch, Will, and Sparks entered. A man sat behind a counter, his socked feet propped up on it

"Excuse me sir" began Decon "I was wondering if y..."

"We don't like your type here" interrupted the man

"My type?"

"The ones who surround themselves with rare and odd friends. You all think it makesyou cooler; news flash, it doesn't"

"Hey! What do you mean odd?"

"Your white haired freind isn't exactly normal. How many people do you know with white hair that aren't ancient? And that purple eye. Did you lose a bet and get forced to keep that freak?"

"Hey! Sparks is not a freak!"

"My mistake, A pet then. Useful for putting on display, along side your Enderman; they both belong in a cage"

Sparks jumped onto the counter and extended her claws "how dare you insult my friends like that!"

"I wasn't insulting them, I was insulting you and your Enderman. You shouldn't be allowed to wander without a leash"

Sparks growled and tackled the man

"Get off me beast!" Shouted the man

Two nearby men grabbed the infuriated Sparks and help her still

"Let me go!" Screamed Sparks as she tried to kick those who restrained her

The man pushed his hair out of his face "get out before I have you caged!"

The two men released Sparks, who ran out of the tavern

"You to" snarled the man to Decon

"You don't have to ask us twice" retorted Will

Decon, Skorch, and Will left the tavern and began walking till they saw Sparks leaning against a tree

"What took you so long?" Grumbled Sparks

Skorch growled at the tavern and patted Sparks on the head

"Sparks" began Decon "about what that guy said, yo..."

"Can we just go?" Interrupted Sparks

"But Spar..."

"Can we please find a place to stay tonight?"

Decon rolled his eyes and began walking off towards a small tavern,which was not in the best repair. Once they entered, they were greeted with a incoherent speech, the likes of which you can only find in a crowded room. Decon was met by a Mendoris with light purple marks

"Hello" said the Mendoris "if you need anything, just tell me"

"Do you have any rooms available?" Questioned Will

"Only one, and it's too small to fit your company"

"How much is it?"

"Probably a lot more than you can afford" chuckled a man sitting at a table near them

"We have three iron"

"That'll get you three bowls of soup" said the Mendoris

Will sighed "are there any places nearby we could stay in?"

"None that you could afford"

Sparks snorted "how much is the cheapest room in this city?"

The Mendoris frowned "A diamond"

"And where is that?"

"Here"

Decon sighed "then where do you suggest we go?"

"Keep walking. There are too many thieves around for you to sleep outside, and not to mention the Undead"

"Well then we have walking to get to"
