Ash's POV After speeding away from Trey, I slowed to a normal pace once I was within a foot of my classroom. I hurried to my table with Ella and Destiny and flopped into my seat. "Damn girl what happened to you?" Ella asked laughing. "This girl needa come with an asthma pump she huffin and puffin and wheezing" Destiny said making her own parody to mock me. I picked my head up from the table to glare at them. "TREY happened."
I gave them a brief summary of what happened in first period that day. "And as soon as my feet hit the floor I did the race on his ass" I finished. "I said wooooow" Ella dragged "you'd think he'd have some self respect- and did he REALLY fall for the pout whine???" "Niggas" Destiny said with an eye roll. "Yep" I sighed "speak of the devil" I said putting my head back down and Trey strolled in.
Trey sat down and dapped his friends up. "Ummmmmm am I missing sum? Why the hell dat boy laughing?" Ella said.

Trey's POV ~Earlier~ "Did this girl really-" I stared in shock as Ash ran away from me. Shawty can't run forever so 🤷🏽♂️ I shook my head and laughed as I made my way to class.
The bell rang right as I got in and I looked over at Ash's table and she had her head down. She must be tired from allat runnin 💀 My boys were waiting for me to take a seat so I dapped them up and listened in to what they were saying. "Bro coach is finna make us RUN for that practice bro" my teammate Nick said shaking his head. "Well what y'all think is gonna happen when y'all embarrass him and get beat by the Girls team" Camryne said laughing at us. "Nah for real how we let the GIRLS beat us that bad bruh" I joined in "Why did you say girls like that?" Cam said turning to me "what they can't be good at basketball? It's either y'all suck or they cold .... and by the sound of it honey it's both" "Yea and what do you mean WE Treyvon Timothy Thompson? It was YOU that sold. You had one job. Guard. Ashley." Nick said " who am I kidding Mr. Token hoe wouldn't be able to guard ANYONE with that girl on the court." "PFFFFFFTTTTT BOY YOU WRONGGG" Cam said bursting out laughing. "No nigga I'm right and y'all know it." Nick said sitting back in his chair. "Bruh will y'all quiet down??? You know she's in this classroom right?" I said a getting little irritated "Yea she distracted me but it don't even matter cuz she mine now" The two fell dead silent and stared into my soul. "Nigga. We talking bout the same Ash? As in the one at that table over there? The smurf? The fine one? The one who made a fool of you not once but TWICE in practice???" Nick asked incredulously. "Yes nigga are you hard of hearing? She was calling me baby all up in the hallway today bruh" I responded "You mean you didn't ask her ou-" "Alright class today I'm going to break you up into groups so we can do some character analysis" Mrs. James interrupted Cam. She began to call out names for groups. I was with Ella and Destiny while Cam and Nick were with Ash. Ohhhh lord. " Yo wassup" I said as calmly as I could as the girl approached my table. "It ain't gone be our grades if we don't get to work so shut ya trap and pay attention" Ella said and Destiny nodded.
