XXIII. Lesser King

Phoenix P.O.V.

I turned the corner, slamming my body against the wall to catch my breath. My heart was echoing inside me and the pain was excruciating. Not only did I have to fight my feelings for Evelyn, but I had to force all those feelings to subside. Rory, Hayden, and I had always shared a drop of each other's pain and I knew that if I continued to be in this much pain that they would feel my heartache. Hence, I spent my time sleeping with other people. Feeling relief every day, a couple of times a day, made the pain subside, but I was at Penelope's wedding. I couldn't just grab anybody and leave for an hour to release the pressure and the pain collecting in my chest.

I managed to peel myself off the wall, carrying my misery with me to the front entrance for some air. Several other guests were standing around, surrounding the clear air I hoped for with cigarette smoke. The tightness in my chest didn't lessen, my throat closing up even further from the smoke.

I swam through the smoke, heading for a corner before a whistle caught my attention. I turned around, looking for whoever it was when a uniform of a waiter caught my eyes. I recognised his gleamy eyes instantly, heading his way without even a thought. His cheeks began to burn a deep red as I approached closer.

He held a metal tray in one hand, clearly having had followed me out. I hadn't seen much of him and had only slept with him twice. I enjoyed his innocence and shyness, but it was what made me refrain from seeing him again. I wasn't like him and I didn't want to ruin him or his chances to find the happy relationship he deserved.

His smile only got brighter the closer I approached, and I couldn't hold myself back. I kissed him with all the fire burning inside me, pushing him against the concrete wall. I could feel him squirming, his lips as hot as mine. He gasped for a breath, as I forced my lips onto his. Though his lips were pulling away, his arm was tightly wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. I pulled away only for a second, looking around for anywhere that we could go and get some privacy. I wrapped my hand around his and dragged his dazed body along with me. We made our way down to the wine cellar, filled with more wine than I had ever seen. I hardly gave the boy a chance to catch his breath, before molding my body into his and kissing his burning lips.

"Ah fuck, I forgot how good you taste," I whispered, only pulling away for a second of air, before returning for more. He was everything that I needed for that moment. Something quick and easy to relieve the pressure. To get my mind of Evelyn and the growing pain in my chest. It was the drug I needed to give me a moment of relief.

"I've missed you." He whispered sweetly. His innocence was only playing with my filthy mind. I could do whatever I wanted, and he would let me. I could fuck him right there, in the damp and suffocating basement. The thought was too tempting to resist. A make-out session won't do. I need this. I need him. I need control.

His cheeks were burning so hot, I could feel the steam coming off them. His breath was hot and heavy, and he was nearly panting.

"I've missed fucking you." I pushed my knee in between his legs, making him squirm as my tongue followed his jawline to his ear. His skin was sweet and salty. It was smooth and it enticed us both.

"What if somebody comes in?" I knew he would eventually give in and let me fuck him. Though he was squirming and whimpering, his arms were still pulling me closer and closer, begging me not to stop. My blood was rushing through my body so fast, I felt like I was on fire. There was nothing that was going to stop me.

"Doesn't that excite you? The thought that somebody might come in any minute and catch us together?" I whispered, pushing my knee even further, before moving my hand from his waist towards his crotch. "You feel excited." I smiled, feeling even more aroused by his pitched trousers.
