Poem
Have you ever wondered what will be the last thing you think of when you die?
I have, admittedly. A lot in fact
It possesses my thoughts every waking hour and every breath I breathe
Slowly rolling over my tongue and tempting to slip out
But, since it takes over my thoughts as much as it does
Won't my last thought simply be the wonderment of that exact topic?
Or will I, in fact, have a thought to think on my dying day?
I've always wondered this as I've watched many deaths
In movies, cartoons, and other media that I partake
Their thoughts are that of victims, heroes, and villains
But will mine be as dramatic a thought?
A suicide? A homicide? Murder or simply age?
Will my life flash before my eyes in that single moment of regret?
I can only wonder as I forget the world around me
And consume myself in only this thought until the day my answer will be received
