On the way home one day you find the world has gone cold and dark. You cant move and later discover someone had attempted to kill you. When you wake up, you find yourself in front a hotel.
The hotel between life and death. Your payment for staying at this hotel will be to repay your debt with time. So if you stay for a year, you will work there for a year after you have died.
During your stay, you become close friends with many of the staff members. One staff member becomes closest to you though, and a close bond is formed.
After a teary goodbye, you figured out how to return to the living and will come back once your time is once again up.
Decades later, you return. Now dead and required to repay your debt, you find yourself at the hotel again. Meeting all the old faces, you get updated on all that's happened while you were away. But a dreadful pit forms in your stomach as you realize the one you were hoping to see most is gone.
They had repaid their debt and were required to leave. A stack of letters was left, in that dreadful handwriting of theirs, and you realize that you took too long.
Months later, you've grown accustomed to work at the hotel and formed quite a few new friendships along the way.
As you go about your job, a small disgruntled teenager that's the spitting image of your long lost friend walks in, carrying a letter scrawled in terrible handwriting.
