26- Baby?

Warning: Major time jump.

It was an early October morning and Michelle quickly bolted from the bed and rushed into the bathroom. She'd made it just in time to release everything she had eaten the night before. Beyoncé followed right behind her wife holding her hair while she puked everything out. Beyoncé had been telling Michelle for two weeks she was pregnant but Michelle was in denial. After Michelle was done Beyoncé helped her to sit on the side of the sink. She handed Michelle a toothbrush but as soon as she was done brushing and went to jump down Beyoncé handed her a pregnancy test. She looked at her wife with wide eyes and accepted the test.

"Baby, I told you I'm not pregnant."

"So you're telling me that you been throwing up every morning for nothing."

"No I just don't think I am."

"Tenitra take the test."

"Okayyyyy." She whined.

Michelle took the test as Beyoncé sat on the side of the tub. When she was done she placed it on the counter to wait for five minutes. Sitting by Beyoncé she held her hand. This was the second time in eight months they'd done this. The first time Michelle wasn't pregnant, it was her body reacting to the hormones. This time was different Beyoncé began to see slight changes in her wife that signalled pregnancy unlike the first time. In the last month Michelle had been having mood swings, sleeping more and last week she started having morning sickness.

"Baby I'm scared. I want a baby with you so badly but I'm scared to read another negative test."

"Babe I don't think it's negative this time."

"I hope not."

The wives sat on the side of the tub talking about the last ten months in their lives.

Flashback

February

It was two days before everyone was to fly out to Hawaii for the wedding. Michelle was making sure that the kids had everything packed. The kids would be there for the wedding then fly home with Ma and Tina so that the couple could go on their honeymoon. Michelle had been up and down the stairs fifty times in the last hour. Beyoncé was out getting some last minute essentials as well as making sure that everything was on point for their nuptials. When she got back to the house she had to stop Michelle from running around frantically. The kids looked at their momma and just shrugged as they sat on the couch.

"Tenitra, Tenitra, TENITRA!" Beyoncé yelled. She just wanted to get Michelle's attention,

"Huh? Baby why you yelling?"

"Because you didn't hear me the two other times I called your name."

"I'm sorry I keep forgetting stuff."

"Babe come here." She wrapped Michelle in her arms and rubbed her back.

"Are you calm now Michelle?"

"Yes Baby, I just don't want to forget anything."

"Whatever you forget, itI will be okay." As long as it's not our rings, Beyoncé thought.

They hugged for a few minutes longer until Beyoncé felt Michelle's whole body relax. That night they ordered pizza and had an impromptu movie night with the kids. They wouldn't see their kids for three weeks after the wedding; they would be honeymooning in the Maldives. So they wanted to spend all the quality time that they could with the kids. The day before they were set to leave Solo came over with Mekhi, he was growing so fast. He would be having his first plane ride at just two months old. Solange insisted on coming to the wedding even though the couple had told her numerous times they were okay with her missing it. Being around Mekhi helped to calm Michelle's nerves and the kids were happy that she was finally calm. She had been running around like a chicken with her head cut off for two weeks. Solange had also brought her bags and decided to spend the night with them as it would be easier to get to the airport if she went with them in the morning. The twelve hour flight they had ahead of them was making Solange a little nervous.
