16. The world and us

Days passed. Taehyung and Jimin were sitting in the library of the packhouse and reading some comics. Jimin was helping Taehyung to pick some hobbies so that he couldn't feel bored when Jimin wasn't around. They started with the wide Library.

Taehyung was surprised by the fact that an omega can enter there. They sat face to face and laughed at a lot of things. That's when someone came and said to Jimin that Hoseok is asking for his assistant. Jimin sighed and bid bye to Taehyung. He sat down silently and concentrated on the book.

"Now I know why alpha Jungkook keeps you as a secret"

Taehyung heard an unfamiliar voice and looked up to see where the voice came from. He found a tall male looking at him.

"Hi, I'm Yugyeom. Min Yoongi's department. Nice to meet you, Luna."- the male said. Taehyung nodded and tried to smile back.
"You love reading books?"- Yugyeom asked.

"Yes. The library has wide collections. "- Taehyung replied.
"That's true. Alpha was strict in learning and gaining knowledge. I guess you too are like him"- Yugyeom said while taking one book from the shelf.

Taehyung went silent, don't know what to do with that information. After some good minutes, Yugyeom broke the silence.
"You know, it's unbelievable"

"What's unbelievable?"- Taehyung questioned confusedly.

"Alpha and mate"-Yug said.

"What's unbelievable in that? "- Taehyung asked again.

"The alpha never wanted a mate in the first place. He used to run away from that topic. You know Jungkook was not so fond of these mate things. He was ready to live alone. And suddenly all these happened. He marked you. It's unbelievable"- Yugyeom said while flipping the pages.

Taehyung's mind was clouded with two things. Second, the mate thing. First- the guy calling his mate 'Jungkook'.

Taehyung can't let his omega side do something stupid. So he calmly asked.
"How do you know?"

Yugyeom looked at him.
"I've been here for a very long time. Not only me, everyone in the pack knows how Jungkook looks after the mate thing."- he said, not knowing the pool of lava he's digging inside Taehyung.

He doesn't have high hopes with Jungkook. But something makes him sad after listening to Yugyeom.

Oh, how much Taehyung wished to have a mate. How much he waited to lean on a shoulder. How much he wanted to run away from that cursed place straight to his mate's arms. All Taehyung wanted was someone who treats him like the way he is, not like some omega only to keep for breeding and stay home like a good wife. He hated that typical omega thing.

He wished his mate will come and end his miseries. Yes, his mate did come. But Taehyung wasn't any better than before. With a bewildered expression, Taehyung left the library.

Yugyeom may not be intended to do this- to shatter Taehyung's imagination into pieces. He may not have thought about how Taehyung's hopes will be broken.

It was too late. And Taehyung felt he was in the wrong place with the wrong person. Taehyung started to question all those moments that happened to him. He was scared to end up like the omega he hates to be. He doesn't want this.

Now that he knows what Jungkook thinks about having a mate, he was crashed down to earth. Even though he doesn't have any hopes with the male, mate is mate, right?

Isn't it amazing, without you even trying, things around you become complicated in just a blink? That's what Jungkook can't understand about his life. He got everything from a young age. Being True blood and stronger, Jungkook always treated first. Even people around him are scared of him, but still, Jungkook reaches the top in any way.

And about the alpha in him- JK must be stronger and whatsoever, but Jungkook thinks way too smarter. Jungkook doesn't let anger control him every time. He's strongest when both he and JK are together. But to the disappointment, it was rare.

Jungkook knows the enthusiasm and change in his wolf after Taehyung came- only towards Taehyung though. Jk is not ready to give up on his mate. That's why, whenever Taehyung was around, he wanted to take over. When Taehyung was near, he can feel how impatiently yet controlled JK is. He's thankful about that.

But there are still a lot of things he has to discuss with Taehyung. And that's why he is here- in his bedroom, walking back and forth while waiting for the omega. The door opened and revealed a dazed and lost Taehyung, stopped on his track when he found Jungkook, expression annoyed. Jungkook sighed as he got no attention from his mate. He decided to break the silence when Taehyung sat on the bed.

"Taehyung, I want to talk to you about something"- he said. Taehyung was still not looking at him. Taking the others' silence as a yes, Jungkook continued.
"Listen, the other day... You and JK...
I mean it's a lot complicated. But I have to say this. You know that- JK is... Stronger and... But you don't know a lot about... Us. It's not what..."- Jungkook was already struggling with words and Taehyung cut him off.

"I know that you didn't want a mate in the first place. I'm sorry for my damn fate which let me meet you."

Taehyung said, cold and harsh. Jungkook was stunned by what he just heard.

"What? What- did- you...?

"What? Doesn't the whole world know Jeon Jungkook doesn't need a mate? He doesn't need one to share his power? He doesn't believe in this mate thing?
Oh, come on... The whole pack knows. I'm the one who left out."- Taehyung spat out.

"If that so, then why did you mark me? Why I'm here? What's my existence here? Am I like your----"

This time Jungkook cut him off. It's just all wrong.

"Taehyung, for the first and last time I'm telling you this. If you want to know anything about me, come and ask ME., not to the WORLD. The outside world and the pack doesn't know me more than I do. You've no right to spit out whatever you heard about me without even knowing the truth. You understand?"

Jungkook wasn't using his harsh and alpha voice. His voice was soft but dominating and strong which made Taehyung nod unconsciously. He knows Jungkook got a point.

"Whatever happened between you and JK is between you two. I can't feel you, your touch, and anything that concerns you whenever JK takes over. My alpha side is stronger. You've to know that"

Jungkook paused to look at Taehyung's expression. He was sitting with a pout, looking down. He was sad and mad. But he can't complain about the alpha. So he sat silent.

Jungkook on the other hand noticed the change in Taehyung's angry tiger mood to a pouty cub. He was amazed a little. But he doesn't want to be the reason for that sadness on his mate's face. Jungkook sighed and sat next to Taehyung. He knows what to do next. So he took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
